Over the past three months, probationers and parolees across Agusan del Sur actively participated in a series of clean-up drives in preparation for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa. These activities, initiated by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, aimed to help maintain cleanliness and readiness in key areas for the national sporting event.

The clients also regularly joined the scheduled monthly clean-up drives organized by the Municipality of San Francisco as part of their ongoing community service.

On May 1, 2026, the Agusan del Sur Parole and Probation Office led a clean-up drive in Bayugan City, focusing on the billeting quarters designated for delegates and participants of the Palarong Pambansa. Through these efforts, the clients continue to demonstrate civic responsibility and meaningful participation in community development.

A total of 50 probationers and parolees were validated and oriented for the DOLE-TUPAD. Seventeen beneficiaries from Prosperidad, San Francisco, Rosario, and Talacogon were oriented on May 7, 2026, while 33 more from Bayugan, Sibagat, and Esperanza underwent validation on May 12, 2026.

This initiative opens opportunities for temporary employment and supports their continued reintegration into the community.

The Volunteer Probation Assistants of the Agusan del Sur Parole and Probation Office, led by VPA President Miguel Nuzon, spearheaded a Tree Planting Activity in Barangay San Nicolas, Talacogon in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Talacogon, the Barangay LGU of San Nicolas headed by Punong Barangay Mitch Quijada, the Municipal ENRO and CENRO of Talacogon, and the office headed by SPPO-OIC Camille Stacy L. Apura, RSW.

A total of 200 seedlings were planted in the flood-prone barangay, with probationers actively participating as part of compliance with their mandatory condition and in support of the Enhanced National Greening Program. The office and partner stakeholders are likewise working on a Memorandum of Agreement for the adoption and sustainability of the tree planting site.

Productive and meaningful discussions marked the Monthly Reporting Meeting of the Prosperidadโ€“San Franciscoโ€“Rosario Cluster of the Parole and Probation Administration โ€“ Agusan del Sur Parole and Probation Office.

Among the matters discussed were the modules for the Livelihood and Education Access Program (LEAP), as well as the importance of securing consent for posting photos without blurring to help promote the positive image and programs of the agency. A brief orientation on the Data Privacy Act of 2012 was also conducted to ensure responsible handling of personal information.

The activity was graced by Regional Officer-in-Charge Lovella Casas Libertad, CESE, together with OIC-ARD Cenen A. Castellano and AOIV Nelia O. Bermudez, whose presence and guidance further inspired the participants in advancing rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.

The Volunteer Probation Assistants (VPAs) of the Agusan del Sur Parole and Probation Office convened for their Quarterly Meeting last April 16, 2026 to discuss upcoming initiatives, including the planned tree planting activity and the proposed new venue for the probationers and parolees under the Talacogonโ€“San Luisโ€“La Paz Cluster.

During the meeting, SPPO-OIC Apura and PPOI Capa addressed and clarified probation and parole-related concerns and updates. Agreements on the proper utilization of VPA Funds allocated to the office were likewise discussed to further strengthen rehabilitation and community-based programs.

Together, we continue to promote restorative justice, accountability, and community partnership.
