Sometimes rescue means saving lives. Sometimes it means bringing families the answers they deserve. 🦺🤍

On the second day of operations, the unified efforts of Team Davao SAR K9 and Metro Manila Kabayani-9 Corps helped locate the final missing victim from the earthquake incident.

Together with K9s Koj, Nana, Cee Dee, and Aquila, responders continued searching until every lead had been exhausted and every family received the answers they had been waiting for. 🐾🫂

Search and rescue is ultimately about people. Whether in rescue or recovery, our mission remains the same: to serve communities with professionalism, compassion, and dignity.

While our hearts grieve alongside the affected families, we are humbled by the dedication shown by every responder who remained on the ground until the mission's completion. 🧑🏽‍🚒👮🏻‍♀️

A heartfelt salute to the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Red Cross, CDRRMO personnel, volunteers, and all partner agencies who worked tirelessly throughout the operation. 🫡

Before sunrise, the mission had already begun. ⛑️🐕‍🦺

Following the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck General Santos City, Team Davao SAR K9 and Metro Manila Kabayani-9 Corps deployed as one unified team to support search and rescue operations at ground zero.

Welcomed by the CDRRMO upon arrival, our teams immediately joined the ongoing response efforts alongside fellow emergency responders. 🚒🚑

Every deployment is about one thing: bringing hope where uncertainty remains. Through coordinated search operations, our K9 teams worked tirelessly to help locate missing victims and support affected families.

On June 9, 2026, K9 teams and responders pushed through difficult conditions, guided by a shared commitment to service.

We also extend our gratitude to the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Red Cross, local government units, and all SAR partners working side by side throughout the operation. 🇵🇭

When emergencies happen, training is what turns bystanders into responders. ⛑️🐕‍🦺

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) welcomed our team for Basic Life Support (BLS) led by instructors FO3 Robert Alfonso and FO1 John Sabandal. 🚑🚒

As Search and Rescue volunteers, we know that preparedness goes beyond finding victims. Understanding lifesaving interventions, scene safety, and emergency care helps us become more effective responders when every second counts.

Our sincere gratitude to the Bureau of Fire Protection and our instructors for sharing their expertise, patience, and commitment to public safety. This is an important part of our capacity building program to build operational readiness. 🙏

Every certification earned is another step toward building a safer, more resilient community. 📚📑

From bayanihan to a system that moves as one. 🇵🇭⛑️

We were invited by the Office of Civil Defense Region XI for an Incident Command System (ICS) Training at Eden Nature Park, a framework institutionalized in the Philippines through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council under RA 10121 as the standard on-scene all-hazard incident management system.

ICS is often described as the “central nervous system” of emergency response, it aligns teams, clarifies roles, and prioritizes coordination over hierarchy, ensuring the best outcomes on the ground.

We are grateful for this certification and learning opportunity. 🙏

Special thanks to OCD XI Regional Director Ednar Dayanghirang for facilitating this session, initiated by our trustee Edsel Fulguerinas.

For us, ICS is a reminder that effective response isn’t about who’s in charge, it’s about how well we work together.

When every second counts, our K9s deserve the same level of care. 🐾🩺

The Office of the City Veterinarian opened its doors to our team for a K9 Basic Life Support First Aid Training, equipping handlers with essential skills to care for their K9 partners in critical moments.

Because operational readiness doesn’t stop at search, it includes the health, safety, and survival of our K9 partners in the field.

We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and certification. 🙏

Special thanks to Department Head Dr. Gay Pallar for making this session possible and for having us as your first team of trainees for K9 BLS.

And to our instructor, Dr. Nikki Luna, thank you for your patience and dedication in sharing your knowledge.

From training ground to turning point, this one meant more. 🐾

Our closing ceremonies marked a meaningful end to an intense 3-day journey, now recognized, with guidance from the MMDA K-9 Corps Inc., as a first of its kind in the Philippines, not just Mindanao!

A proud first step forward for among many upcoming trainings as part of the deployment readiness program of Team Davao SAR K9. 🎓

This milestone strengthens our role in building national-level capability for both search and recovery operations, raising the standard for K9 teams across the country.

These words may be simple and repetitive, yet remain true and integral to our cause: teamwork and leadership. 🔥

Our Day 3 video recap captures an intense simulation, so real we almost forgot it was training. Under the blistering late morning sun, there was no room for error.

From focused silence to quick resets, we moved between operational mode and handler instinct, ending with a grounding debrief that brought everyone back to reality. 🐕‍🦺⛑️

In real deployments, during disasters, success depends on clear leadership, tight teamwork, and disciplined ex*****on.

Deepest thanks again to both the Barangay Talomo Proper and Talomo Central Elementary School for providing space and amenities, this entire event wouldn’t be possible without you. 🙏

Training is one thing, working as a team is another. 👥👷

Day 3 moved into simulated scenarios, large-scale deployment, operational readiness, and skill maintenance, even during practical exercises, the shift was clear; more focus, intent, and presence.

Highlights included proofing behavior, switch on, and finishing on a high note.

Actual deployments demand clarity, coordination, and consistency under pressure. 🚧⛑️

Thank you to Talomo Central Elementary School for warmly welcoming our participants and their furry partners. 🐕‍🦺🐾

To every guest, your enthusiasm and willingness to help remind us why we do this.

In Search & Rescue, it’s not you vs others, it’s you vs yesterday. 🌱🌳

Our Day 2 video recap shows it best: there’s no competition in this field, only a shared mission to improve, adapt, and show up better each time. 🤝

Effective K9 operations are built on continuous growth, collaboration, and trust; not comparison. Every small improvement strengthens the whole team.
