Kakayahan at kasanayan ng mga mag-aaral ibinida sa Skills Olympic Day

Masigabong palakpakan at kasiyahan ang namayani sa Pudtol Vocational High School Gymnasium sa pagdaos ng kauna unahang Skills Olympic Day na ginanap noong Agosto 25 upang maipamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang mga kasanayan at kakayahang kanilang natutunan sa iba’-ibang asignatura.

Ipingmamalaking ipinakita ng mga mag-aaral sa TVL strand gaya ng BPP, SMAW, EIM, Carpenry, Garments, Tailoring, at FBS ang kanikanilang demostrasyon sa paggawa ng kanilang mga natatanging produkto at pagsasagawa ng kanilang serbisyo sa iba’t-ibang larangan.

Nagkroon ng exhibits ng mga malikhaing gawa at pagtatanghal ng mga mag-aaral sa asignaturang Ingles, matematika, Siyensa, Filipino, at iba pa.

Dumalo sa aktibidad si Hon. Ricky A. Laoat na nagsilbing panauhing pandangal. Kasama rin si Hon. Elfleda A. Garde, Chairman ng Committee on Education upang ipakita ang kanyang suporta sa isinagawang programa ng paaralan. Ipinahayag ni Hon. Laoat at Hon.Garde ang labis na galak dahil sa mga nasaksihang husay at galing n ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral.Nagbahagi din sila ng mga mensaheng nagsisilbing inspirasyon ng mga mag-aaral na magpatuloy sa paghubog ng kanilang kakayahan.

Samantala, ipinaabot din ng prinsipal ng paaralan na is Imelda Burigsay kasama ang assistant prinsipal na si Milmar Bunnao ang taos-pusong pasasalamat at pagmamalaki sa lahat ng panauhin, mag-aaral, at mga g**o sa matagumpay na gwain.

Sa pagtatapos ng programa nagkaroon ng gallery walk upang makita ang mga produkto, proyekto, at kakayahan ng mga estudyante upang makita, masuri, at magkaroon ng ideya ang mga mag-aaral tungkol sa mga gawain ng ibang mag-aaral na nasa ibang strand.

Skills are for life- BM Laoat
“Skills are not just for competition, skills are for life.”
These were the striking words uttered by Hon. Ricky A. Laoat, Board Member in Apayao province and served as guest of honor during the Skills Olympics Day at Pudtol Vocational High School at PVHS Gymnasium on August 25,2026.
Hon. Laoat shared a short story to the learners on how he was also able to survive his high school years in PVHS. According to him, in the early implementation of the TVL curriculum, there was no specialization yet. All the areas like carpentry, masonry, electrical, and welding had to be undergone by all learners.
He also emphasized the importance of having one focused skill or area to attain an excellent craftmanship.
“It can Change one person, it can change a family, and eventually it can help change the entire world.”
Laoat stated as he essentially emphasized how skills are in our lives and how it helps in opening doors for opportunities.
He then ended his speech by encouraging the students to improve their skills in order to secure their dreams and use it to change themselves and even the community, “Those same hands can someday build your future.”
