3RD MARINE BRIGADE CELEBRATES 44 YEARS OF HONOR, DUTY AND VALOR
3rd Marine Brigade proudly commemorated its 44th Activation Day, marking more than four decades of unwavering service, sacrifice, and dedication in defense of the nation. The celebration served not only as a milestone in the Brigade’s history, but also as a solemn reminder of the values, traditions, and missions that continue to guide every Marine under its colors.
A central highlight of the event was the solemn Re-dedication Ceremony, symbolizing the Brigade’s renewed pledge of commitment. By re-dedicating all awards and campaign streamers earned by the Brigade and its battalions, the ceremony reaffirmed the collective sacrifices, hard-won victories, and enduring legacy forged through years of steadfast service.
The occasion was further marked by a commemoration of the heroes produced by 3rd Marine Brigade—gallant Marines who laid down their lives for the country and were bestowed the Medal for Valor. Their courage and selflessness stand as the highest expression of service, inspiring present and future generations of Marines to uphold the same ideals of honor and bravery.
Recognizing loyalty and dedication within the ranks, the Brigade conferred Loyalty Awards upon Sgt Meliza P Pielago PN(M) for 15 years of continuous assignment, and MSgt Oscar G Luceña PN(M) for 25 years of faithful service to 3rd Marine Brigade. The celebration was further highlighted donning of rank to the newly promoted CPT FRANCO AVELLO A HILOTIN PN(M), signifying both personal achievement and the continued strengthening of the Brigade’s leadership.
In his remarks, Commander, 3rd Marine Brigade, BGEN WILFREDO B MANALANG JR PN(M) gracefully captured the spirit and identity of 3rd Marine Brigade, emphasizing that its Marines are not defined by where they are stationed, but by how they serve. He stressed that the colors they defend do not change through time, and neither does their commitment. He affirmed that when 3rd Marine Brigade arrives, readiness arrives; where it establishes a foothold, defense is assured; and when it stands firm, the nation stands stronger.
In his speech, the Commandant, Philippine Marine Corps, MGEN VICENTE MARK ANTHONY P BLANCO III PN(M) further reminded everyone that achievements are never the result of individual effort alone. He emphasized that success is born from teamwork, leadership, discipline, and the shared belief that every Marine, regardless of rank or role, matters to mission success.
For forty-four years, 3rd Marine Brigade remains ever ready and ever faithful; DISCIPLINED IN CONDUCT, SELFLESS IN SERVICE, COMBAT READY, AND UNYIELDING IN ITS COMMITMENT TO THE PEOPLE AND OUR NATION.
