💙💛Mental Health Awareness at GHC💛💙

The CSWD–Group Homes for Children welcomed a meaningful Mental Health Awareness Seminar facilitated by our DOST Scholar Psychology Intern, Ms. Shaila Dela Torre, together with her friends from the Psychology Society of Palawan State University.

The activity provided our children with a safe and engaging space to learn about the importance of understanding, expressing, and taking care of their mental well-being.

Adding more warmth to the occasion, Shaila, together with her family, also conducted an outreach activity and shared food with the children as her simple way of expressing gratitude and giving back to the center.

Our heartfelt thank you to the Dela Torre Family for your generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Your time and effort made the day extra special for our children.

Thank you for making a difference, Shaila! 💛💙

💧 A New Source of Hope—and Water! 💙💛

The CSWD–Group Homes for Children proudly inaugurated its newly installed manual hand-operated water pump, generously granted by Hon. Lucilo R. Bayron, City Mayor, through Mr. Andrew C. Manlawe and Mr. Danny Abrea of the Mayor’s Office.

For the longest time, GHC relied solely on an electric water pump. During power interruptions or PALECO brownouts, securing water for the center became a challenge. With this new manual pump, the center now has an additional and reliable source of water—even during power outages! 💧💙💛

The inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony was facilitated by Center Head SWOII Val L. Salvador, together with the GHC staff, WPU BS Social Work Practicumers, and, most importantly, the children of the center.

The simple but meaningful celebration was capped with a delicious lunch shared by everyone. 💙

Our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron and the Mayor’s Office for this practical and much-needed support for the children and the GHC community. Every drop makes a difference! 💧💙💛

CSWD–Group Homes for Children Nutrition Month 2026 Culminating Activity 🥗🌱

The CSWD–Group Homes for Children successfully concluded its Nutrition Month 2026 Celebration on July 31, 2026, through a fun-filled and educational culminating activity centered on this year’s Nutrition Month theme: “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”

The program officially opened with inspiring Opening Remarks from Case Manager Jezaven C. Lampago, RSW, followed by the NutriJingle Competition, where the four teams showcased their creativity through original song compositions that promoted healthy nutrition and environmental stewardship.

Adding excitement and meaningful learning to the celebration, the WPU Social Work Practitioners presented a creative puppet show featuring the Encantadia Sanggres, teaching the children the importance of eating nutritious food while caring for the environment. This was followed by an engaging Nutrition Quiz Bee, where the children actively participated and demonstrated what they had learned.

The celebration concluded with the Slogan Making Contest, where each team proudly presented and explained their original slogans reflecting the values of proper nutrition, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.

Recognizing the teams’ outstanding performances throughout the month-long celebration, including the Cooking Contest held during the opening of Nutrition Month, Blue Team emerged as the Overall Grand Champion of the CSWD–GHC Nutrition Month 2026 Celebration.

The activity formally ended with the Closing Remarks delivered by Ms. Mercy Joy Soterio, one of the Center’s Social Workers.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our distinguished panel of judges for generously sharing their time, expertise, and support in making this celebration a success:
