Today, we honor not just the birth of a visionary leader, but the legacy of a man whose leadership transformed the lives of countless PalaweΓ±os. As former Governor of Palawan, you stood as the Father of Palawan Waterβ€”prioritizing and championing the province-wide water infrastructure project that finally addressed one of the most urgent and long-standing needs of our communities: access to safe and potable water.

For many years, too many of our fellow PalaweΓ±os lived without this basic necessity. But through your unwavering commitment, bold leadership, and deep compassion for the people, what was once a distant dream has now become a reality.

Your leadership is not just rememberedβ€”it continues to inspire. A true model of public service.

Maraming salamat, Congressman JCA.
Happy, happy birthday!

In 2021, Palawan Water began building the largest reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant in the entire province. By 2022, the project was completed and is now fully operational, serving every household in the island municipality.

This project is part of a bigger vision: one of 90 completed water systems across Palawan, powered by diverse and innovative solutions, from river-fed or gravity-driven water systems, to solar-powered and RO technologies.

🚰 No island too far. No community left behind.
This is more than just water…this is hope, delivered.πŸ’¦

Following its earlier recognition of the El Nido Sewage and Solid Waste Treatment Plant (SSWTP) as a benchmark for environmental sustainability, officials from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) visited the facility this week to learn more about its operations and long-term impact.

The visit aimed to deepen DBP’s understanding of the treatment plant’s processes and explore how similar sustainable infrastructure can be implemented in other municipalities and provinces across the country.

Launched in 2021 through the partnership of the Provincial Government of Palawan and the LGU of El Nido, the SSWTP remains the first-of-its-kind in the Philippines. Effectively addressing water pollution, generating renewable energy, and supporting eco-tourism.

Palawan Water continues its strong support for this trailblazing initiative, paving the way for replicable, innovative solutions that promote environmental protection nationwide.
