Another sustainable sanitation facility inaugurated in vulnerable community in the city of Manila.
On June 16, 2026, no less than the vice mayor herself, vm chie atienza and councilor Irma Juson who chairs the committee on health of the council attended the turn over of the 4-door communal WaSH facility in bgy. 128 in the city of Manila. This is the second of sustainable sanitation models, constructed in the city, operated and managed by trained community members. It's sustainability relies on a minimal user's fee that provides fund for its operation and maintenance costs. The. Facility is envisioned to benefit 150 informal settler families and other users from the nearby multipurpose gym.
This is the second such sustainable sanitation model implemented by A Single Drop for Safe Water, funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in partnership with the Manila LGU through the Manila Health Department.
The festive affair was also attended by representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the DOH, the Manila Barangay Bureau and the Manila Health department.
