Balikatan sa Palawan Philippine-US Combined Exercise Balikatan partnership and mutual commitment to the mutual defense treaty. BK12 consists of three simultaneous events.

“Balikatan” is a Tagalog term that means “shoulder-to-shoulder” and characterizes the spirit of the exercise, focusing on Philippine-U.S.

The Team Western Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines shows their Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) capability on Tue July 12, 2016 at the Headquarters WESCOM Grandstand.

Lower photos, soldiers showing their equipment and capability in a different scenario wherein a typhoon or other related disaster struck the province. The AFP unit’s HADR team thoroughly study issues related to current and future security concerns all throughout the province of Palawan in the areas of humanitarian assistance, disaster response and emergency preparedness.

BK16 is 32nd iteration of PH-US Balikatan Exercise program. As part of BK16 exercise in Palawan are the following activities: Engineering Civic Action Program (ENCAP), Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR), Cooperative Health Engagement (CHE) training.
