ππππ: Coast Guard Station Northeastern Palawan (CGS NEP) continued its humanitarian service to the community through the successful conduct of an Information Drive and Gift-Giving Activity through the Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) Program today, December 24, 2025.
The initiative focused on strengthening community awareness of the Philippine Coast Guardβs (PCG) core functions, particularly maritime safety, enforcement of maritime laws, marine environmental protection, disaster preparedness, and the importance of timely coordination during maritime-related incidents. The information campaign also highlighted the role of the iCARE program in strengthening partnership with coastal communities and underscored their vital contribution in supporting PCG efforts to promote a safe, responsible, and resilient coastal community.
In addition, under the leadership of LTJG Friendly R Mercado PCG, Station Commander CGS NEP, distributed Christmas food packs to 30 families and holiday treats to 40 children, spreading joy, smiles, and a renewed sense of hope while embracing the true spirit of giving this Christmas season held at Sitio Bayo Bayo 1, Brgy. Tagumpay Coron, Palawan.
This meaningful activity reflects CGS NEPβs steadfast commitment not only to safeguarding our maritime domain but also to fostering stronger community relations and serving with humility and compassion.
