The DILG PADS-PMO, an office under the Department of the Interior and Local Government tasked to spearhead the Department's various initiatives towards drug-free communities, was created by virtue of Executive Order no. 88 of 2018.
The said order mandated all government government offices, departments, bureaus, agencies and offices, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs) to implement the PADS in accordance with their respective mandates. Non-government organizations, civil society organizations and private institutions were also encouraged to actively support the projects and programs under the PADS.
In essence, PADS is the blueprint of the government's strategies and programs in cutting the supply of and demand for illegal drugs.
