29 September 2026 | House of Representatives of the Philippines

Began the initial deliberation with the House Committee on Agriculture on House Bill No. 11189, which seeks to expressly recognize bamboo as a high-value and industrial crop. ๐ŸŽ‹

The measure also proposes institutionalizing the National High-Value Crops Development and Bioeconomy Office and Program to strengthen the development of high-value crops and support a more sustainable and productive agricultural sector.

When we invest in our farmers, we invest in the strength, resilience, and future of our nation. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

A productive discussion with Senate President Senator Win Gatchalian and Senate Finance Chair JV Ejercitoโ€”together with Representatives Jose Alvarez, Mark Enverga, and Arnulf Bryan Fuentebellaโ€”as we work toward a transparent, efficient, and responsive 2027 Peopleโ€™s Budget.

Our shared goal is clear: a budget that drives sustainable growth, strengthens resilience, and creates opportunities that reach more Filipinos.

Working alongside my , Hon. Ayec T. Pimentel, 2nd District of Surigao del Sur Representative, is a responsibility we both take seriously as we serve our province in Congress.

We attended the final day of the plenary deliberations on the FY 2027 General Appropriations Bill, covering discussions on the Office of the Ombudsman, the Judiciary, the Department of Finance and its attached agencies, the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development and the Philippine Statistics Authority, as well as lump sum funds and other budgetary matters.

Different districts, one provinceโ€”and a shared responsibility to be present and engaged in the work of Congress. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

The House of Representatives of the Philippines approved the proposed โ‚ฑ644-billion budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways for 2027, following the sponsorship of the budget on the floor.

In my sponsorship message, I emphasized the need for a DPWH budget anchored on accountability, equity, and resilienceโ€”with stronger safeguards to ensure that public funds are properly documented, monitored, and translated into projects that deliver for our communities.

The direction is clear: Build Better. Build Accountable. Build Resilient. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Congratulations, Secretary Sonny Angara, and the entire Department of Education on the approval of the DepEd budget in the National Expenditure Program.

As the agency with the biggest budget allocation in the NEP, this reflects the immense responsibility entrusted to DepEd in shaping the future of our country through quality, accessible, and inclusive education.

May this budget translate into stronger support for our teachers, better learning environments, and greater opportunities for every Filipino learner.

Congratulations, Sec. Sonny, and to the entire DepEd team!
