It also serves as a reminder of the long history of fighting for fair wages and reasonable work hours. Because of these major labor movements, many workers today benefit from protections achieved through persistence and collective action. Whether through a simple “thank you” or a day of rest, the spirit of Labor Day shows that every worker deserves respect.
