⁨MC, AFP NEWS | Building Combat-Ready Healers: Advancing Tactical Combat Casualty Care

20–24 July 2026 – The Medical Center, Armed Forces of the Philippines (MC, AFP) successfully facilitated the Tier 1 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Training, themed “Train the Trainer,” at Camp Colonel Victoriano K. Luna, V. Luna Avenue, Quezon City. The training brought together medical professionals and healthcare providers to enhance their knowledge and skills in providing timely and effective care in tactical and combat environments.

The activity was facilitated by the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, led by Colonel Arvin M. Berino MAC (GSC), in collaboration with the Medical Service School, under the leadership of Colonel Joseph Alain U. Ibuna MAC (MNSA), Commandant, Medical Service School, MC, AFP, and the Hawaii National Guard, led by Lieutenant Colonel Jason K. Ruiz, 66H NC, U.S. Army. The training aimed to develop capable trainers who can effectively cascade TCCC knowledge and life-saving skills to other healthcare providers, strengthening the medical readiness and operational capability of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

On 24 July 2026, the participants successfully completed the training, which was graced by Colonel Maricris Q. Castro MC (GSC), Deputy Commander for Clinical, MC, AFP.

MC, AFP NEWS | Strengthening Mental Health Support Across AFP

29 July 2026 - The Medical Center, Armed Forces of the Philippines (MC,AFP), convened representatives from personnel of Victoriano Luna General Hospital (VLGH) through Chief Nursing Service and Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Science, Health Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit (HSEU), Office of the Assistant Chief for Personnel, H1, Chaplain, Sergeant Major Office and spearheaded by Office of the Command Nurse for a confernce on Mental Health Support and Crisis Hotline Services, reinforcing a unified commitment for safe guarding the mental well-being of our military personnel and their dependents.

The conference focused on strengthening mental health programs, enhancing crisis response mechanisms, and ensuring that timely, compassionate,and accessible Psychological support is available whenever and wherever it is needed.
