Police authorities quickly responded to a Kidnapping complaint that resulted to the arrest of four individuals.
Information reaching the PNP headquarters reveals that on Sep 8, 2022, a certain Soraida Dimalutang, mother of victim Jaylou Turno, came to Iligan City Police Station 1 and sought for assistance regarding her missing son who was allegedly kidnapped by the family of his girlfriend.
According to the complainant, her son informed her that he will go to the house of his girlfriend a day before Mrs. Dimalutang went to the police station.
Following that, she was surprised upon receiving a call from the relatives of his son’s girlfriend asking for a sum of money in return of her son’s release.
Upon determining enough grounds, joint elements of Iligan, the Anti-Kidnapping Group, Iligan CPS5 and RSOU 10 launched an entrapment operation against the suspects.
The operating teams delivered the ransom money of P10,000 at the agreed place and time which then led to the subsequent arrest of the suspects.
1. Jamilah Balowa, 26, student and a resident of Purok 7 Rosales, Luinab, Iligan City;
2. Jamaliah Balowa, 22, saleslady and a resident of Purok 7 Rosales, Luinab, Iligan City;
3. Jamil Balowa, 25, salesboy and a resident of Purok 7 Rosales, Luinab, Iligan City;
4. Gemma Balowa, 57, housewife and a resident of Purok 7 Rosales, Luinab, Iligan City.
“The immediate response to complaints of this serious nature is guided by our peace and security initiative MKK = K or Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran. We want the public to feel that we have a working police force who are capable of responding to various forms of crimes,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
