Historical Background

The proposition to declare territorial and political subdivision of Quezon City, autonomous in form in order to fully developed as a self reliant community, was formulated by then Mayor Norberto Amoranto. Acting on the issue, the Quezon City Council delineated political subdivisions particularly in the Project 4 area. The area was given the name Barangay Milagrosa, in honor to Patrol Saint of Project 4, the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish under OIC Barangay Captain, Mr. Located at the center of Project 4, bounded on the Northeast by P. Tuazon Street; East by Highland Drive now Tom Castro Street; Southeast by Rajah Matanda Street to Buaya Creek and Southeast by Katipunan Avenue, with a total land area of 41,994 hectares more or less, was then created by virtue of Executive Order No. 31 on June 25, 1975.
