Last July 31, 2026, the Joy of Urban Farming Program successfully conducted a Hydroponics Orientation at the BJMP Male Dormitory in Payatas, Quezon City, with the participation of 100 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The activity aimed to introduce sustainable and space-efficient farming techniques, empowering participants with practical knowledge and skills in hydroponics. Through this initiative, we continue to promote food security, rehabilitation, and livelihood opportunities—proving that growth and new beginnings can happen anywhere.

Together, we plant hope and nurture a greener future for all. 💚🌿

A successful and meaningful day as the **Joy of Urban Farming 101 Orientation** reached five (5) active Homeowners’ Associations in Barangay Payatas, District 2!

Participating HOAs:
• Ramawil 9.6 HOA
• Kanejin HOA Mayon
• Narra Hills 3 HOA
• Narra Hills 2 HOA
• Upper Everlasting HOA Block 1

Participants gained valuable knowledge on the basics of urban farming—from proper planting techniques to essential plant care—empowering them to start and sustain their own home gardens.

This initiative continues to promote **food security, healthier living, and environmental sustainability** within our communities.

This program is part of the vegetable food production project of Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte, under the guidance of Ms. Tina Perez, Head of the Joy of Urban Farming Program.
