SCHOOL HISTORY (1993-2010)

Dr. Josefa Jara Martinez High School was born out of the genuine concern of some leaders both local and national for the welfare of our people, especially the youth in the community. A study that has been conducted long before its establishment unwarranted the need for an educational institution that is geared towards scientific and vocation efficiency hence; it was ini

tially name Quezon City Vocational High School. corroborated in SERBISYONG BAYAN effort with then Barangay Captain Dominador Banega of Barangay Tatalon with the support of former City Mayor Ismael Mathay Jr. to convince the President of the Philippines of the feasibility of the project. The school was first registered under the institution’s name “ Dona Josefa Jara Martinez Vocational High School, and later named Dr. Josefa Jara Martinez High School the mandate of House Bill 100048 introduced by Representative Feliciano Belmonte Jr., and the school fomally opened its door to the people of Tatalon and the nearest Barangay on June of 1994. Navarro was the first Head/Principal of the school serving up to the month of August of 1997 with ten (10) pioneering members of the teaching force. During the time of Dr. Navarro the strict implementation of discipline among students was observed and this leads to the commendable performance of the school particularly on the academic side. On the October 3, 1994, as the school is continuing to exist and grow, two (2) new strong buildings was blessed and historically inaugurated by then President of the Philippines Fidel V. Ramos, together with the first lady Amelita “Ming” Ramos as the First Family contribution for the welfare of the people of Barangay Tatalon. The school was finally named after the mother of the First Lady, Dr. Josefa Jara Martinez-the pillar of Social Work in the Philippines in grateful recognition of her pioneering effort in the field of Social Work. On August of 1997, Mr. Oliveros served as school principal until June of 2003. Mr. Oliveros initiated the establishment of the school administration building and the construction of the covered court under the initiative of then Fourth District Representative of Quezon City Nannette C. Daza. After the term of Mr. Oliveros, Dr. Levita U. Ramos came in a form June 16,2003 to June 20,2004 she served as the First Lady Principal of the School. It’s been during the time of Dr. Ramos when the computerization of one of the rooms of the administration building was initiated. When the term of Dr. Ramos ended Mrs. Angelita G. Regis took over and it was during her time that the principal’s office was transferred to second floor of the administration building and more physical facilities were innovated during her time. Dr. Victoria V. Mangosong took own the principalship servings the fifth principal of the school. During the time of Dr. Mangosong, she initiated the paging system where communication within the vicinity of the entire school is easily transmitted both to teachers and students. Dr. Mangosong was able to put up an additional covered court with more students to occupy especially during special occasions. Before she left the school on August of 2009, she planned and requested the construction/erection of the Audio Visual Hall/Building for the benefit of the students, faculty members and non-teaching personnel and this dream of having and Audio Visual Room was approved and materialized during the term of the next principal. On August 24, 2009, Dr. Luis P. Tagayun assumed the office up to the present school year as school principal III. Dr. Tagayun who is very young and energetic school head,had an ambition to make this school a center of excellence both in academic and non-academic. He wants to achieve this target by instilling to the mind of both teachers and students the value of “being disciplined and morally upright individual” as we look forward for the realization of the school’s Vision and Mission. Among the major changes through the years, is the development of the physical facilities and continues improving of the academics and the non-academic performance of the school. Kung ang school head mo ay palaging nag-uutos sa group chat kahit weekend o oras ng pahinga, maaaring subukan mong gawin ang mga sumusunod:

Magbigay ng respectful na feedback: Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakita ng respeto at malinaw na komunikasyon, maaari mong ipaalam sa SH mo ang epekto ng kanyang pag-uutos sa mga oras ng pahinga. Ipaalam sa kanya na ang lahat ng mga katanungan o mga pangangailangan ng ahensya ay dapat na ipinapadala sa panahon ng oras ng trabaho lamang.

I-clarify ang mga expectations: I-clarify sa iyong SH ang mga inaasahan ng grupo tungkol sa mga oras ng trabaho at pahinga. Paliwanagin sa kanya na kahit na mahalaga ang trabaho, ang lahat ng mga empleyado ay may mga karapatan sa kanilang oras ng pahinga at panahon ng pamilya.

I-raise ang isyu sa HR: Kung ang SH mo ay hindi nakikinig sa iyong feedback at patuloy na nagpapadala ng mga utos sa hindi tamang oras, maaari mong kausapin ang HR upang magpaabot ng reklamo o maghanap ng mga solusyon upang masolusyonan ang problema.

I-set ng boundary: Kung ang pagpapadala ng mga utos ng SH ay nakakaapekto na sa iyong oras ng pahinga at panahon ng pamilya, mag-set ng boundary para masiguro na hindi naaapektuhan ang iyong mga personal na oras. Kung kailangan, iwasan ang mga group chat o gawin ang pagtugon sa mensahe pagkatapos ng oras ng trabaho.

Tandaan na mahalaga ang pagpapakita ng respeto at malinaw na komunikasyon sa SH mo, ngunit hindi ka rin dapat makalimot na magpatupad ng boundary upang protektahan ang iyong oras ng pahinga at panahon ng pamilya.
