As part of the Philippine Government's efforts to deepen cooperation with Japan, National Security Adviser Eduardo SL Oban Jr. joined President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the courtesy call of His Excellency Motegi Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, at Malacaรฑan Palace, 22 July 2026.
This meeting reaffirmed the Philippines' and Japan's commitment to closer cooperation and sustained engagement on areas of mutual interest. Strengthening this strategic partnership supports shared efforts to promote regional peace and stability while creating greater opportunities for security, economic resilience, and prosperity that ultimately benefit the Filipino people.
