A culture of respect and honor we display,
For the flag we salute, uphold, and obey🇵🇭

Last Friday, January 27, 2026, Ernesto Rondon High School held its final flag-lowering ceremony for the school year—an event that reflected the culture of reverence, discipline, and patriotism that the school continues to uphold. As the Philippine flag was solemnly lowered and gracefully folded, it was respectfully turned over by the Scouts to Dr. Modesto G. Villarin.

As he marched forward, the Scouts rendered a salute, followed by Assistant Principal Ma’am Editha Macawile, the Head Teachers, and the Non-Teaching Personnel of the school. More than a ceremonial act, the moment underscored a lasting value passed on to the Rondonians: that honoring the flag is a shared responsibility and a living tradition that endures beyond leadership and time.

"Sir V" to Retire After 39 Years of Government Service

Dr. Modesto G. Villarin is set to retire from government service on February 12, 2026, marking the conclusion of his 39-year career in public education.

As part of his final activities in service, January 26, 2026 will be Dr. Villarin’s last flag-raising ceremony, while January 30, 2026 will be his final flag-lowering ceremony. He will be on official leave starting the first week of February before retirement.

Dr. Villarin began his career in 1987 as a teacher at Marikina High School, followed by teaching assignments at Mandaluyong High School in 1988 and Bagong Silangan High School in 1989. He remained at Bagong Silangan High School until 2000, when he attained the position of Teacher III. In 2004, he was promoted to Head Teacher III in Mathematics at the same school.

Later in 2004, Dr. Villarin assumed his first principalship as Secondary School Principal I at Tandang Sora National High School (2004–2005). He subsequently served as Secondary School Principal II at Balara High School (2005–2007) and Sauyo High School (2007–2008). From 2008 to 2010, he held the position of Secondary School Principal III at Carlos Albert High School.

Dr. Villarin was later promoted to Secondary School Principal IV, serving at Sta. Lucia High School (2010–2011), San Bartolome High School (2011–2017), Bagong Silangan High School (2017–2022), Ismael Mathay Sr. High School (2022–2024), and Ernesto Rondon High School (2024–2026).

Throughout his career, Dr. Villarin consistently emphasized the values of Service, Excellence, and Faith in the schools he led. His leadership focused on student development, professional growth of teachers, curriculum enhancement, and collegial leadership, with active involvement of stakeholders in school decision-making.

Dr. Villarin’s retirement marks the end of nearly four decades of service in the public education sector, during which he served in various instructional and administrative capacities across multiple public secondary schools

DAKILA ANG NAGPAPAKUMBABA KATULAD NG ISANG BATA | Viva Pit Señor! 🙏✨

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Señor Santo Niño, reminding us of the purity, humility, and faith of a child—virtues we are all called to live by.

Last Thursday, Ernesto Rondon High School was truly blessed by the visit of the Pilgrim Image of Señor Sto. Niño de Cebu.

It was a moment filled with faith, grace, and unity as we welcomed the Holy Child into our school community, entrusting our hopes, prayers, and thanksgiving to His loving care.

Viva Sto. Niño! Viva Pit Señor! 💛👶🏼
