PNP IMPOSES PENALTIES ON 1,191 PERSONNEL IN CONTINUING INTERNAL DISCIPLINE DRIVE
The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its internal disciplinary mechanisms, imposing administrative penalties on 1,191 personnel from January 1 to May 6, 2026 as part of the organization’s continuing internal cleansing efforts.
Based on records from the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), the penalties imposed included dismissal from the service, suspension, demotion, forfeiture of salary, restriction, reprimand, and withholding of privileges, depending on the gravity of the offense and pursuant to existing laws, rules, and regulations.
Of the total number, 551 personnel were suspended, 353 were dismissed from the service, 176 were penalized with forfeiture of salary, 63 were demoted, 23 were reprimanded, 20 were subjected to withholding of privileges, and five were placed under restriction.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized the organization’s continuing zero-tolerance policy against misconduct, corruption, and other violations committed by erring personnel.
“Patuloy nating pinaiigting ang internal cleansing program ng PNP upang matiyak na ang mga pulis na lumalabag sa batas at sa ating mga alituntunin ay naaaksyunan nang naaayon sa due process. Mahalagang mapanatili natin ang tiwala ng publiko sa pamamagitan ng isang disiplinado at propesyonal na hanay ng kapulisan,” PGen Nartatez said.
He underscored that disciplinary actions are implemented regardless of rank or position and form part of the PNP’s continuing efforts to uphold organizational discipline and public trust.
Records from the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) further showed that from August 26, 2025 to May 6, 2026, a total of 1,108 personnel across various ranks were dismissed from the service as part of the PNP’s intensified internal cleansing and disciplinary campaign.
The figures included 1,020 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs), 52 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs), and 36 Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUPs), reflecting the organization’s policy of accountability regardless of rank or position.
The PNP assured the public that it will continue to enforce internal disciplinary measures fairly and consistently in line with the organization’s commitment to a more professional, accountable, and service-oriented police force under the vision of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas:Serbisyong, Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
