ILC Diliman Hosts UVLe '26 Training for Faculty
With the recent launch of UP Diliman's official Learning Management System (LMS), UVLe '26, the Interactive Learning Center Diliman (ILCD) promised a variety of training sessions aimed at mastering the new platform. As planned, ILCD hosted a three-day repetitive training session for the new UVLe '26, which happened on February 9, 11, and 13, 2026, at the University Computer Center.
The training formally opened with an opening ceremony led by ILCD Director, Associate Professor Miguel Francisco Remolona, who delivered the opening speech and emphasized the importance of UVLe โ26 in strengthening digital teaching and learning at the university.
The project was headed by the ILCD Program Development Associate (PDA) for Education Technology, Assistant Professor Jessica Junio-Jimenez, while the training was led by faculty trainers Assistant Professor Carlo Angelo Sonday, Assistant Professor Jake Avila, Professor Elenita Que, and Assistant Professor Adelson Chua, who also serves as an ILCD PDA.
The program was split into two sessions: the AM sessions titled โTransitioning to UVLe โ26 & Basic UVLe โ26 for Faculty,โ which focused on the UI changes, transferring UVLe โ22 classes to the new platform, as well as showcasing some of the new features.
The PM sessions titled โUVLe โ26 Gradebook & Groupings and Grade Overridesโ were focused on the more advanced feature of UVLe: the Gradebook. In these sessions, the facilitators demonstrated how to use the Gradebook, discussed the different types of grade aggregation, explained groupings, and covered other important specifics related to the feature.
UVLe, now using the up-to-date Moodle 4.5 LMS, has plenty of new features as well as a revamped User Interface (UI), highlighting the need for comprehensive training. However, the training did not only focus on the websiteโs new features, the ILCD also launched new UVLe platform badges that the participants and facilitators will receive after the training. These new badges, although purely for bragging rights for now, will be displayed on the userโs profile and will be a good first step for the plan of blockchain for our online credentials.
Currently in its beta phase, UVLe โ26 is set for full release by midyear, on June 12, 2026, together with the CRS integration module.
