Rice and coconut farmers from Aurora received over ₱7.6 Million worth of insurance payments

PCIC Regional Office 3A handed out over ₱7.6 Million in indemnity payments to around 1,400 farmers during distribution activities in Baler and Casiguran, Aurora.

The beneficiaries, from the municipalities of Baler, Casiguran, Dilasag, and Dinalungan, primarily consist of rice and coconut farmers whose livelihoods were impacted by adverse weather conditions.

In a message during the distribution activity in Baler, Luzon farmers’ sector representative in the PCIC Board Gerardo Soliman reaffirmed PCIC’s commitment to providing a reliable safety net to the farmers by ensuring that they can recover quickly from losses through timely insurance and indemnity support.

RO 5 urges Tiwi hog raisers to insure with PCIC

PCIC Regional Office 5 encouraged local livestock raisers to avail of PCIC’s products and services during a forum held in Tiwi, Albay.

Insurance Underwriter Leonel Cabangon gave an orientation on PCIC’s products and services, and answered queries from more than 180 hog raisers and meat vendors. He emphasized the importance of livestock insurance, given the threat of animal diseases and typhoons.

Tiwi Mayor Jojo Climaco expressed full support to PCIC’s insurance products, stressing how these protect the livelihood of farmers and livestock raisers.

RO 11 hands out ₱0.42 Million indemnity in Tarragona, Davao Oriental

PCIC Regional Office 11 distributed over ₱0.42 Million worth of indemnity payments to 75 high-value crop farmers from Tarragona, Davao Oriental.

Indemnity was prompted by damages caused by strong winds and rains.
RO 11 Manager Rosalina Grabulan also gave a presentation on PCIC’s insurance products and urged beneficiaries to encourage fellow farmers to avail of agriculture insurance.

“I hope that we help one another in promoting crop insurance so that more will benefit from this program of the government,” Grabulan said.

Western Visayas farmers receive over ₱21.8 Million indemnity

PCIC Regional Office 6 distributed over ₱21.8 Million worth of indemnity checks to almost 5,000 beneficiaries in Western Visayas. Distribution activities were conducted in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.

Most of the beneficiaries were rice farmers who had their crops damaged by pests, diseases, and unpredictable weather patterns. Some fisherfolk also received indemnity after their fishing boats were hit by heavy rains and strong waves caused by the shear line.

“We have been working hard to timely distribute payouts so that farmers and fisherfolk can quickly recover from losses,” RO 6 Manager Eva Ulie Laud said.

RO 3A distributes ₱1.7 Million insurance indemnity in Dingalan, Aurora

PCIC Regional Office 3A released ₱1.7 Million worth of indemnity checks to 117 beneficiaries in Dingalan, Aurora. The recipients were primarily fisherfolk who incurred losses due to adverse weather conditions.

RO 3A Manager Gerlie Gregorio expressed gratitude to the farmers and fisherfolk for their continued trust in PCIC and encouraged them to continue enrolling in the government’s free agricultural insurance programs.

In response, Reagan Carrera, a fisherfolk-beneficiary from Barangay Matawe, Dingalan, Aurora, thanked PCIC for the fast processing of claims. Officials from LGU Dingalan also expressed their appreciation to PCIC for the conduct of the distribution activity in the municipality.

North Cotabato farmers receive over ₱2.37 Million insurance indemnity

More than 500 beneficiaries from the towns of Kabacan and Carmen in North Cotabato received over ₱2.37 Million worth of indemnity payments.

Most of the claimants in Kabacan were rice farmers whose crops were damaged by floods and stemborers; while the majority of beneficiaries in Carmen were corn farmers affected by rat infestation.

The farmers thanked PCIC Regional Office 12 for the prompt processing of their claims.

RO 4 informs farmers of new channels in receiving indemnity

PCIC Regional Office 4 conducted an orientation on receiving indemnity payments through new channels at the Sablayan Municipal Hall in Occidental Mindoro.

More than 500 farmers and fisherfolk from Sablayan and Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro were informed of the procedures in receiving indemnity payments through mobile e-wallets GCash and PalawanPay, and remittance center Palawan Express Pera Padala, among other payment channels.

RO 4 Administrative and Finance Chief Nerissa Pascual discussed the salient features, benefits, and procedures of the new payment schemes. After the session, participating farmers completed application forms to update their preferred mode in receiving indemnity payments.

PCIC RO 5 conducts orientation on free agri insurance in Garchitorena

PCIC Regional Office 5 held a seminar on how to avail of free agricultural insurance in the town of Garchitorena, Camarines Sur.

The government provides 100% premium subsidy for the insurance coverage of subsistence farmers and fisherfolk included in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and the National Coconut Farmers Registry System.

“Gamitin natin ang pagkakataong ito upang maprotektahan nang libre ang ating mga kabuhayan laban sa mga hindi inaasahang kalamidad at maiwasan ang pagkalugi (Let us use this opportunity to protect our livelihoods for free against unexpected calamities and to avoid losses),” RO 5 Insurance Underwriter Raul Delos Santos said.

Delos Santos served as a resource person in the seminar. He discussed PCIC’s various insurance programs and the claims process.

RO 1 gives over ₱1.23 Million indemnity to Dagupan City fishermen affected by fish kill

Sixty-four fisherfolk from Dagupan City received over ₱1.23 Million worth of indemnity checks from PCIC Regional Office 1. Indemnity was given due to damages resulting from fish kill incidents caused by sudden temperature changes.

“We hope our fisherfolk recover quickly and continue their livelihood despite challenges brought by climate-related risks,” RO 1 Manager Raul Servito said. “Insurance plays an important role in protecting the livelihood of our farmers and fisherfolk.”

Mary Ann Bautista, a beneficiary from Barangay Pugaro Suit, shared how PCIC insurance helped her recover from losses. Thus, she has been actively promoting PCIC products in her community. “Nakita ng mga kasamahan ko na malaking tulong ang PCIC. Dahil doon, nahikayat ko rin silang magpa-insure,” Bautista said.

PCIC RO 5 and LGU Ragay agree to provide free life insurance to farmers and fisherfolk

PCIC Regional Office 5 Manager Janice Obias and Ragay, Camarines Sur Mayor Benchie Horibata signed a memorandum of agreement to give free accident and life insurance to local farmers and fisherfolk. The signing ceremony was held at the Ragay Municipal Hall.

“This partnership reflects PCIC’s effort to strengthen the safety net for farmers and fisherfolk. Through this, we increased the access to insurance protection against unforeseen accidents,” Obias said.

The agreement provides free insurance coverage to 3,000 local farmers and fisherfolk under PCIC’s Accident and Dismemberment Security Scheme (ADSS). It offers financial assistance to insured farmers and fisherfolk or their families in case of accident resulting to dismemberment or death. The insurance is free as the Ragay Municipal Government will pay the insurance premiums.

“This agreement reflects the Ragay Municipal Government’s continued support for the agriculture and fisheries sector,” Mayor Horibata said.
