Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force Created under Executive Order No. 23 intensifying the government's fight against the massive, organi President Benigno Simeon C.

Aquino III created the Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force (AILTF) to protect the Philippines' remaining forests estimated to have 7.168 million hectares based on the 2003 satellite image taken by the National Mapping Resource and Information Authority (NAMRIA), an attached agency of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Based on assessment, illegal logging activities in the country is

massive, organized and well-financed. The creation of Executive Order No. 23 manifest the President's commitment to his agenda and policy on environment protection in accordance to his "Social Contract with the Filipino People" which calls for a sustainable use of resources to benefit the present and future generations.
