PDO, AFP Conducts CSP Operations Lectures for CMOG-PN Personnel

FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines Peace and Development Office (AFPPDO), through its Community Support Program (CSP) Division, conducted lectures on Community Support Program (CSP) Operations, the Integrated Territorial Defense System (ITDS), the Barangay Development Program (BDP), and Insurgency-Free and Security Operations (IFSO) for officers and enlisted personnel of the Civil Military Operations Group–Philippine Navy (CMOG-PN) on 08 July 2026 at the Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown (MBRB), Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The activity was led by LTC EDWARD P DOMPOL PA, Chief of the CSP Division, with MSg Marlon P Abagon PA serving as one of the resource speakers. The lectures enhanced participants' knowledge of community support and stability operations in support of the AFP's Internal Security Operations and the government's Whole-of-Nation Approach. Discussions covered the strategic role of CSP, ITDS, BDP, and IFSO in promoting peace, strengthening community resilience, and addressing the root causes of insurgency. The sessions also highlighted stakeholder engagement, interagency collaboration, strategic communication, and best practices in community-focused operations.

As the Philippine Navy's primary unit for Psychological Operations, Civil Affairs, and Public Affairs, CMOG-PN plays a key role in fostering partnerships with government agencies, local government units, partner organizations, and communities. Through this capability enhancement activity, AFPPDO reaffirmed its commitment to developing competent Civil-Military Operations personnel capable of advancing peace, security, and sustainable development initiatives nationwide.

AFP Launches People's Organization Sustainment Program to Strengthen Community Resilience

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through its Peace and Development Office, Armed Forces of the Philippines (PDO, AFP) officially launched the People's Organization Sustainment Program (POSP) on 07 July 2026 at the NCRCOM Grandstand, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, in partnership with the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM).

Anchored on the theme, "Empowered People's Organizations: Strengthening Communities for Long-Term Sustainability," the program seeks to strengthen accredited People's Organizations (POs) by enhancing their organizational capabilities, fostering collaboration with government agencies and stakeholders, and building resilient, peaceful, and self-reliant communities. The initiative supports the government's Whole-of-Nation Approach by promoting community participation and addressing the root causes of conflict through peacebuilding and sustainable development. The launching gathered representatives from government agencies, local government units, civil society organizations, and partner stakeholders, demonstrating a shared commitment to participatory governance and grassroots development.

In his welcome remarks, COL FERDINAND P ROMANO PAF (MNSA), Acting Chief, PDO, AFP, underscored that empowered People's Organizations are key partners in sustaining peace and development. He emphasized the PDO's commitment to strengthening communities by providing institutional support that enables POs to become drivers of resilience, inclusive growth, and nation-building.

Messages of support were delivered by senior officials from the AFP, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), and the Department of National Defense, reaffirming the government's commitment to strengthening partnerships with communities.

Following the ceremonial launch, the POSP will be rolled out nationwide through the AFP's Infantry Divisions, providing capacity-building, organizational development, mentoring, and partnership initiatives for accredited People's Organizations. Through sustained collaboration with government and community stakeholders, the program aims to institutionalize long-term support mechanisms that empower communities and contribute to lasting peace, security, and sustainable development across the country.

A new chapter of leadership begins for the Peace and Development Office, Armed Forces of the Philippines (PDO, AFP), as it formally conducted its Change of Chief of Office Ceremony on 26 June 2026 at Dimalupig Hall "B", AFP Commissioned Officers' Club, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Presided over by LTGEN EDMUNDO G PERALTA PA, The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, the ceremony marked the formal turnover of leadership from CAPT NORSAL D DIMAPORO PN (MNSA) to COL FERDINAND P ROMANO PAF (MNSA), who officially assumed the duties as Acting Chief, PDO, AFP.

In recognition of his exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication, CAPT DIMAPORO PN (MNSA) was conferred the Distinguished Service Star and presented a Plaque of Recognition for his outstanding service as Chief, PDO, AFP, for three years and seven months. Under his stewardship, the office strengthened its role in advancing the AFP's peace and development initiatives through collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and community-focused programs.

Taking the helm is COL ROMANO PAF (MNSA), a seasoned officer whose extensive experience in peace and development operations makes him well-prepared to lead the office. Having previously served as the Assistant Chief, PDO, AFP, he has played an active role in the implementation of various peace mechanisms and has been instrumental in fostering partnerships with key stakeholders. His deep institutional knowledge and operational experience ensure continuity in advancing the office's mandate.

As the PDO, AFP moves forward under new leadership, it remains steadfast in promoting sustainable peace, strengthening partnerships, and supporting the AFP in its mission of protecting the nation and serving the Filipino people. Leadership may change, but the commitment to peace, service, and nation-building remains unwavering.

Security Sector Strengthens Support for MNLF Transformation Program Through IEC Campaign in Tawi-Tawi

Bongao, Tawi-Tawi – The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Transformation Program was successfully conducted on 25 June 2026 at the Headquarters 2nd Marine Brigade, Philippine Marine Corps, Philippine Navy in Brgy Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, bringing together key members of the security sector, AFP and PNP, to reinforce their role in advancing the government's peace and development agenda.

The activity aimed to enhance participants' understanding of the MNLF Transformation Program and underscore the vital role of the security sector in supporting its implementation. Discussions focused on promoting inter-agency collaboration, sustaining peace and security, and advancing the government's peace and development initiatives in MNLF communities.

The successful conduct of the IEC Campaign reflects the government's continuing efforts to institutionalize peace through dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility. By enhancing the understanding and participation of the security sector, the activity contributes to the broader goal of empowering MNLF communities and sustaining the gains of the peace process.

As the MNLF Transformation Program continues to be implemented, initiatives such as the IEC Campaign remain instrumental in fostering greater cooperation among stakeholders and ensuring that peace and development efforts reach communities across Tawi-Tawi.
