government agencies. Each year, it strives to sustain and improve its collection of books, journals, and related information. History
The UPPI Library was established in 1965 as part of the UP Population Institute. The latter then became connected with the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) in 1982. Collection
Most of the materials available deal with demography, population, and other related issues or topics such as fertility, migration, urbanization, aging, family planning, and the like. The library was established in support to the Institute's objectives:
1) training of demographers;
2) serving as the focal academic institute in the dissemination
of knowledge in the field of population; and
3) implementing a program of research in population and
related issues significant for development planning and policy
formulation purposes.

The 2025 UP College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) Extramural Training Seminar for Social Science Teachers (CSSPEx2025) will be held on April 24-26 at the University of the Philippines UP Diliman. This year’s CSSPEx theme is Ethics, Artificial Intelligence, and Knowledge Production: Navigating Challenges in Social Science Research. We welcome the participation of senior high school teachers, faculty members of HEIs, and researchers.
