The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) continues to intensify its campaign against Photo and Video Voyeurism through sustained nationwide operations, resulting in significant operational accomplishments during the first five months of 2026.โฃ
โฃ
From January to May 2026, the PNP ACG conducted a total of 35 Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism operations across the country, leading to the arrest of 27 individuals involved in the unauthorized recording, possession, sharing, and distribution of intimate photos and videos.โฃ
โฃ
The operations also resulted in the rescue of six Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and one victim, highlighting the PNP ACGโ€™s commitment not only to apprehending offenders but also to protecting vulnerable individuals affected by cyber-enabled crimes.โฃ
โฃ
These successful operations were carried out through the coordinated efforts of the PNP ACGโ€™s Special Operation Units (SOUs), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Units (RACUs), Satellite Offices, Provincial and City Cyber Response Teams (P/CCRTs), and District Anti-Cybercrime Teams, in close coordination with local police units.โฃ
โฃ
The arrests stemmed from various complaints against individuals involved in the production, possession, dissemination, and exploitation of intimate and private content without the consent of the persons involved. โฃ
โฃ
Investigation of the cases revealed that most offenders were personally acquainted with the victims, with the offenses commonly motivated by revenge, harassment, coercion, personal gain, or other malicious purposes.โฃ
โฃ
The PNP ACG emphasized that Photo and Video Voyeurism is a serious offense punishable under RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), which protects the privacy and dignity of individuals against the unauthorized recording, reproduction, sharing, and distribution of intimate images and videos.โฃ
โฃ
These accomplishments support the directives of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the PNP, under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework of the PNP Focused Agenda, which promotes intelligence-driven, technology-enabled, and responsive policing strategies in addressing emerging threats in cyberspace.โฃ
โฃ
Police Major General Wilson C. Asueta, Director of the PNP ACG, reiterated the Group's commitment to safeguarding cyberspace and protecting the public from online exploitation. "These accomplishments reflect our unwavering resolve to pursue individuals who violate the privacy and dignity of others through technology. We encourage victims and concerned citizens to immediately report incidents of photo and video voyeurism so that appropriate legal action can be taken and victims can receive the necessary assistance," PMGEN Asueta said.โฃ

PNP RESCUES OVER โ‚ฑ5.5-M WORTH OF WILDLIFE, NABS FOREIGN NATIONAL IN SARANGANI

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its campaign against environmental crimes following the successful rescue of more than โ‚ฑ5.5 million worth of protected wildlife species and the arrest of a foreign national in Sarangani Province.

The operation was conducted on June 4, 2026, by personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Sarangani Police Provincial Office, local police units, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resourcesโ€“Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-MENRO) of Sarangani.

Authorities recovered several protected wildlife species allegedly being possessed and traded without the permits required under Republic Act No. 9147, otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, which regulates the collection, possession, transport, and trade of wildlife and wildlife by-products in the country.

The arrested suspect, identified only by the alias โ€œSon,โ€ an Indonesian national, is facing appropriate charges for alleged violation of RA 9147.

The successful operation underscores the PNP's commitment to protecting the country's biodiversity and natural resources. It also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through intensified law enforcement efforts against environmental and transnational crimes.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., lauded the operating units and partner agencies for their coordinated efforts.

"Ang tagumpay na ito ay bunga ng mahusay na koordinasyon ng ating mga kapulisan at mga katuwang na ahensya ng pamahalaan. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos, mas napapalakas natin ang proteksyon sa ating likas na yaman at wildlife resources," PGEN Nartatez said.

"We remain steadfast in enforcing environmental laws and supporting conservation efforts across the country. Our message is simple: the protection of wildlife and the environment is a shared responsibility, and the PNP will continue to do its part in preserving these resources for future generations," he added.

The operation also complements the environmental protection and sustainability initiatives being advanced by the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., recognizing the importance of conserving the nation's natural heritage and maintaining ecological balance.

The PNP assures the public that it will continue to work closely with the DENR and other partner agencies in implementing environmental laws and protecting wildlife habitats, in line with its commitment to Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
