On August 20, 2026, personnel of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 1 (RACU 1), led by PCOL Greg T. Guerrero, Chief of RACU 1, participated in the 6th Regular Meeting of the Rotary Club of San Fernando City North as guest speaker, held at Barangay Panicsican, San Juan, La Union.

The engagement aimed to strengthen the partnership between the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) and the Rotary Club in promoting cybercrime prevention, online safety, and responsible use of technology. During the meeting, PCOL Guerrero discussed relevant cybercrime concerns and emphasized the importance of vigilance, cybersecurity awareness, and community cooperation in addressing emerging cyber threats.

On August 20, 2026, at about 9:00 AM, personnel of the Kalinga Provincial Cyber Response Team, led by PLT Lanie M. Babate, Team Leader, under the leadership of PCOL Rafmil De Lapaz Corpuz, Chief of RACU CAR, conducted a lecture during the Seminar on Developing Core Competencies in Criminology held at Avema Resort Function Hall, Ipil, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The activity was attended by Criminology OJT students, teachers, and representatives from various line agencies, who gained practical knowledge on the roles and responsibilities of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group in addressing cybercrime, enforcing applicable laws, and responding to emerging cyber-related offenses, thereby strengthening their awareness of cybercrime prevention and reinforcing the partnership between the PNP-ACG and the academic sector in developing competent future criminology professionals.

On August 22, 2026, personnel of the Rizal Provincial Cyber Response Team, led by PMAJ Eric C. Casabal, Team Leader, under the supervision of PCOL Jerry V. Empizo, Chief of RACU 4A, conducted a cybercrime awareness lecture for the youth at Tropical Bali Resort, Barangay Dolores, Taytay, Rizal.

The lecture covered cybercrime awareness, common online dangers, Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), cybersecurity awareness, and the avoidance of nihilistic beliefs and digitally amplified pessimism. The activity aimed to strengthen community engagement, enhance cyber literacy, and raise awareness on the vulnerabilities of internet users to help prevent and reduce illegal online activities.

PNP POSTS 65% TRUST, 63% PERFORMANCE RATINGS IN LATEST OCTA SURVEY

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to earn the confidence of the Filipino people, recording a 65% trust rating and a 63% performance rating in the latest OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa Survey for the second quarter of 2026.

The results place the PNP among the government agencies receiving strong public trust and positive performance assessments during the period, reflecting the publicโ€™s recognition of the organizationโ€™s continuing efforts to maintain peace and order, protect communities, and provide responsive police services.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. welcomed the results, saying the strong ratings are a meaningful reflection of how the public sees the PNP and its work.

โ€œMalaking bagay sa amin ang resulta ng survey dahil galing mismo ito sa pananaw ng ating mga kababayan. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob nila sa PNP. Gagawin namin itong dagdag na inspirasyon para lalo pang pagbutihin ang aming serbisyo at patunayan araw-araw na karapat-dapat kami sa tiwalang ito.โ€

The Chief PNP said the ratings further encourage the organization to remain focused on providing police services that are professional, responsive, and respectful of the rights of every citizen.

The results also reinforce the PNPโ€™s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly efforts under Enhanced Managing Police Operations to make police responses more effective, responsive, and attuned to the needs of communities.

For the PNP, public confidence is strengthened not only by measurable accomplishments, but also by the everyday experiences of people when they interact with police officersโ€”from responding to emergencies and addressing crimes to assisting citizens and helping keep communities safe.

On August 17, 2026, at about 9:30 AM, the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Cyber Response Team (SKPCRT) conducted a Project ACCESS activity at Tacurong National High School in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat. The initiative forms part of the school-based programs of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 12 (RACU 12), under the supervision of PCOL Alvin M. Martin, Chief of RACU 12, aimed at strengthening studentsโ€™ awareness and understanding of cybercrime and various online risks.

The activity equipped students with knowledge on identifying cyber threats, protecting personal information, and practicing responsible online behavior. Through the lectures and open forum, students and school personnel strengthened their awareness and vigilance in promoting a safer digital environment.
