In an effort to strengthen awareness and compliance among local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Quezon, Isabela, in partnership with the DTI Isabela through Negosyo Center (NC) Quezon, conducted a two-day MSME Information Dissemination Activity on 7โ8 April 2026. The activity was held at the barangay halls of Arellano and Samonte, Quezon, Isabela, with a total of 197 participants.
The activity aimed to inform and educate MSMEs from various barangays about their roles and responsibilities in operating a business while complying with government regulations. It also highlighted the importance of responsible business practices and environmental protection.
During the sessions, Ms. Jacklyn Joy A. Quedding, Junior Business Counselor (JBC) of Negosyo Center Quezon, presented the Programs, Activities, Projects, and Services (PAPS) of DTI. She discussed how these initiatives support entrepreneurs and help small businesses grow. She also emphasized the importance of Business Name Registration, noting that registering a business name legitimizes operations and builds trust among customers and partners.
On the environmental aspect, Ms. Jesusa Bangngagan, MENRO I, discussed the vital role of business owners in protecting the environment. She explained the provisions of Republic Act 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and reminded participants of local ordinances on waste management, particularly those regulating the use and sale of plastics and other non-biodegradable materials. She encouraged MSMEs to adopt proper waste management practices and actively support environmental initiatives in their communities.
The two-day activity provided participating MSMEs with the opportunity to learn more about government programs, raise questions, and gain a better understanding of regulations affecting their businesses. It also enhanced their awareness of environmental responsibilities as members of the business community.
Through this initiative, DTI R2 Isabela, together with MENRO Quezon, continues to support and empower MSMEs by providing relevant information, guidance, and assistance. Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to promoting responsible entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development in the municipality.
