𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘆! 🛣️

Where are the “key” places to life and our country’s natural heritage? And how can we work together to protect them?

As part of the 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 (𝗞𝗕𝗔) 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, we are bringing KBA conversations closer to communities through a roadshow across selected sites in the country.

From 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, the roadshow aims to strengthen local knowledge, participation, and stewardship for the continued conservation and management of KBAs.

Together with communities, LGUs, DENR, the KBA Consortium, and Forest Foundation Philippines, we’re bringing people closer to the places that matter most for biodiversity and supporting those who help protect them.

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀.

Key Biodiversity Areas (KBA) are sites of global importance for the persistence of biodiversity. Through the Updating the Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) in the Philippines Project, Haribon works with the KBA Consortium, DENR, LGUs , and communities to strengthen KBA conservation and protect these vital areas as a key natural heritage for future generations. Ngayong araw ay 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲!🌾💚

Bawat butil ng bigas at bawat ani na inihahain sa ating hapag ay bunga ng sipag, tiyaga, at dedikasyon ng ating mga magsasaka.

Hindi lamang sila ang puso ng ating agrikultura—isa rin sila sa mga pangunahing tagapagtaguyod ng paglago ng ating ekonomiya. Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang walang sawang paggawa, natitiyak ang suplay ng pagkain, napapalakas ang kabuhayan ng maraming pamilya, at naitataguyod ang pag-unlad ng ating mga komunidad.

Hindi lahat ng bayani ay nagsusuot ng kapa. Ang iba ay humaharap sa matinding init ng araw, malalakas na ulan, at iba't ibang kalamidad upang matiyak na may sapat na pagkain sa ating mga hapag at may mas ligtas na kinabukasan ang bawat komunidad.

Sa 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 na ito, taus-puso nating kilalanin at pasalamatan ang ating mga magsasaka—mga tunay na bayani na patuloy na nagsasaka para sa ating lahat.

Bukod sa pagpapalamig ng panahon, ang ulan ay nagbibigay-buhay para sa ating mga kagubatan, sakahan, ilog, at mga pinagkukunan ng malinis na tubig. Kaya mahalagang pangalagaan ang ating kalikasan upang patuloy nating matamasa ang mga biyayang hatid ng bawat patak ng ulan.

Kaya ngayong 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲, sama-sama nating pahalagahan ang kalikasan, dahil bawat patak ng ulan ay malaking tulong sa ating buhay.

July 28 is 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

Nature is the foundation of life. It gives us clean air, fresh water, fertile soil, bountiful food, and countless resources which sustain our communities and the future generations. However, our forests, oceans, rivers, and wildlife still face threats from pollution, habitat loss, unsustainable practices, and climate change.

This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲, let us renew our commitment to protect and preserve our environment. Every action matters – whether by reducing our waste, planting more native trees, conserving water, protecting wildlife, or supporting sustainable practices.

🌿 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 🌿

Did you know that mangroves have an important role in protecting our environment and even coastal communities? They serve as natural barriers against storm surges and coastal erosion, offer breeding grounds for fish and other marine creatures, improve water quality, and store large amounts of carbon that help minimize the effects of climate change.

On this International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, we recognize the importance of these incredible forests. We can help ensure healthier coastlines, richer biodiversity, and a more resilient future for the next generations.

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

As part of the culminating activity of the Philippine Environment Month Celebration 2026, the Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (PNREO) proudly recognized outstanding offices during the regular Monday Convocation of Provincial Government employees through the 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. The award recognizes offices that actively implement Republic Act No. 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, through proper waste segregation and environmentally responsible workplace practices.

Certificates of Recognition were presented to all winning offices. In addition, the employee in charge of waste management in the Champion office received a special prize in recognition of his diligence and commitment to proper waste segregation.

Twenty (20) lucky employees who followed the official page of the PNREO also received advocacy shirts and ornamental plants to encourage environmental awareness and promote a greener and healthier workplace. 🪴

Congratulations to the awardees and the lucky employees! May you remain our steadfast partners in creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable workplace. May this recognition inspire more offices to embrace sustainable workplace practices and strengthen our collective commitment to environmental stewardship in the years ahead.

Today marks the start of 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲!

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 began in 2011 in Western Australia as a simple initiative to encourage people to reduce the use of single-use plastics. Since then, it has grown into a global movement, inspiring millions of individuals, communities, and organizations to make more sustainable choices for our planet.

This Plastic Free July, let’s take meaningful steps toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future by reducing our reliance on single-use plastics.

Every reusable bag, bottle, and container we choose makes a difference. Together, we can protect our environment, conserve our natural resources, and inspire others to adopt eco-friendly habits.

Halina’t balikan natin ang pakikibahagi ng mga kawani mula sa Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (PNREO), PGO - Special Projects Unit, at pati na ang DENR Quirino, sa isang makabuluhang aktibidad para sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan. 💚

Noong Hunyo 25, 2026, isinagawa ang tree planting at tree nurturing activities bilang bahagi ng paggunita ng Philippine Arbor Day, bilang simbolo ng ating sama-samang pananagutan sa pangangalaga at pagpapanatili ng ating mga kagubatan at likas na yaman. 🌳

Bawat punlang naitanim at bawat punong inaalagaan ay mga hakbang patungo sa isang mas malinis, at mas luntiang kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon. 🌱

Sa pagdiriwang ng Philippine Arbor Day ngayong ika-25 ng Hunyo, 2026, nakiisa ang mga kawani ng Provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office (PNREO) at PGO – Special Projects Unit sa pagtatanim ng mga punla bilang ambag sa pangangalaga at pagpapanumbalik ng ating kalikasan. Kasama rin ang PENRO Quirino, sa pangunguna ni For. Arnel Martin, na naghatid ng mensahe ni DENR Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna tungkol sa kahalagahan ng sama-samang pagkilos para sa mas luntiang kinabukasan.

Ang Philippine Arbor Day ay isang mahalagang pagdiriwang na nagtataguyod ng pagtatanim ng puno bilang simbolo ng ating pananagutan sa pangangalaga ng kapaligiran at pagpapatibay ng likas na yaman para sa susunod na henerasyon.

Matapos ang tree planting activity, isinagawa naman ang Mid-Year Assessment kung saan nag-ulat ang iba’t ibang dibisyon ng kanilang mga nagawa at natamong tagumpay sa nakalipas na dalawang quarter. Ang nasabing gawain ay pinangunahan ni PENR Officer, For. Estrella Pasion, bilang bahagi ng pagsusuri at pagpapalakas ng mga programa at serbisyong inihahatid ng tanggapan para sa mas epektibong pagtupad sa mandato ng opisina.
