QUIRINO MHO HOLDS BUNTIS CONGRESS

The Municipal Health Office of Quirino, Ilocos Sur, spearheaded by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Allan Alejandro III G. Sevilla, successfully conducted the recently concluded Buntis Congress 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting maternal health and providing essential services to pregnant women in the municipality.

The activity featured an informative session led by resource speaker Dr. Michelle Patendo-Cababa, who shared valuable information on maternal health and the importance of proper care during pregnancy.

As part of the event, pregnant attendees received free ultrasound services, pedicure, manicure, and haircuts. Free Pap smear examinations were also conducted by Dr. Cababa for 30 women who attended, promoting awareness and early detection of potential health concerns.

Adding excitement to the gathering were the Buntis Got Talent competition, raffle draws, and distribution of various prizes, making the event both informative and enjoyable for the participants.

Through this initiative, the MHO reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the health and well-being of mothers and their unborn children by bringing accessible healthcare services closer to the community.

LGU Quirino, TESDA Forge Partnership to Strengthen Child Development Workers’ Capacities

The Local Government Unit of Quirino, Ilocos Sur, through Public Employment Services Office - Quirino and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement to provide capacity-building training for Child Development Workers.

The initiative aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of CDWs in delivering quality early childhood care and development services to children in the municipality. Through TESDA’s training programs, participants will be equipped with practical skills and relevant knowledge to further improve their performance and service delivery at the community level.

The LGU of Quirino and TESDA also look forward to implementing more training opportunities and development programs in the future, expanding access to skills development and other beneficial services for the people of Quirino.

LGU QUIRINO WELCOMES NEW SCHOOL HEADS

The Local Government Unit of Quirino warmly welcomed the newly assigned school heads of five elementary schools in the municipality during their courtesy visit, reaffirming the shared commitment of the local government and the education sector to providing quality education for Quirinians.

The new school heads are Dr. Nova T. Tolentino of Saoil Elementary School, Julios Antonio of Iteb Elementary School, Madilone T. Belmonte of Bucnit Elementary School, Pio Imbat of Cayus Elementary School, and Prudelyn Clemente Benemerito of Suagayan Elementary School.

The visit served as an opportunity to establish rapport, strengthen coordination, and foster collaboration between the school administrators and the local government in support of educational programs and initiatives.

The LGU Quirino recognizes the vital role of school heads in ensuring effective school management, improving learning outcomes, and creating a conducive learning environment for learners.

The Municipality of Quirino proudly congratulates Shiny Audray M. Reynante and Kenworth Bryle P. Bal-iyang, children of Quirinian families, for successfully passing the October 2026 Physicians Licensure Examination!

Special recognition goes to Dr. Kenworth Bryle P. Bal-iyang for securing TOP 3 nationwide with an outstanding rating of 94.83%.

Shiny Audray, daughter of Engr. Remigio Ludivico Reynante and Aurora Miguel Reynante, and Kenworth, son of Santos P. Bal-iyang and Dr. Rachel Pasabing Duque, have brought pride and inspiration to their families and the entire Quirino community.

QUIRINO EMERGES OVERALL CHAMPION IN BEGNAS DI ILOCOS SUR 2026

The Municipality of Quirino emerged as the Overall Champion in the recently concluded Begnas di Ilocos Sur 2026, bringing pride and honor to the municipality through its outstanding performances in the celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ culture and heritage.

Participated in by 19 Indigenous Peoples (IP) and Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) municipalities, the event highlighted the rich cultural traditions, artistic talents, and enduring heritage of Indigenous communities across the province.

Leading Quirino’s remarkable achievement, Angela G. Dollente was crowned Bangan di Begnas 2026. Together with Aldo Pag-a, representing Gatan, the pair also earned the awards for Best in Talent and Best in Production Number, demonstrating their talent, confidence, and cultural pride.

Adding to the municipality’s victories, the Cultural Dancers of Barangay Malideg, Quirino, Ilocos Sur, secured the championship in the Cultural Dance Competition.

Quirino’s overall victory reflects the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of its representatives in promoting and preserving the cultural identity of Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Cultural Communities.
