AFP Reinforces Leadership Stability with Confirmation of 38 Senior Officers

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) further strengthened leadership stability and joint force readiness following the Commission on Appointments’ confirmation of the ad interim appointments of 38 senior officers on August 13 in Pasay City.

Led by AFP Chief of Staff General Antonio G. Nafarette PA, the confirmed officers included senior leaders from the AFP’s major services. The group comprised 19 officers from the Philippine Army, seven from the Philippine Air Force, nine from the Philippine Navy, and three from the Philippine Marine Corps.

The newly confirmed officers are expected to play key roles in advancing joint operations, strengthening professional military development, and supporting the AFP’s mandate to safeguard national security and protect the Filipino people.

80IB ASSISTS GMA KAPUSO FOUNDATION IN RELIEF DISTRIBUTION TO 917 BENEFICIARIES IN SAN MATEO, RIZAL

The 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army provided security and support during the relief distribution conducted by the GMA Kapuso Foundation, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office of San Mateo, Rizal, at 14 evacuation centers in the barangays of Macalanday, Guitnang Bayan, Banaba, and Silangan all of San Mateo, Rizal.

The activity provided essential assistance to 917 beneficiaries, extending much-needed support to families affected by Enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

The STEADFAST Battalion helped ensure the safe and orderly distribution of relief goods, working closely with the LGU and humanitarian partners to address the immediate needs of affected communities.

The activity underscores the value of strong partnerships in facilitating timely humanitarian assistance and strengthening community resilience during times of calamities.

80TH INFANTRY (STEADFAST) BATTALION HOLDS MONDAY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 77TH INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW

Baras- The 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion conducted its Monday Flag Raising Ceremony in observance of the 77th International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Commemoration on 03 August 2026 at the Headquarters, 80th Infantry (STEADFAST), carrying the theme, "Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL."

The observance highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation among government agencies, security forces, and local communities in advancing the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). It emphasized that adherence to IHL remains a fundamental responsibility of every soldier, ensuring that military operations are conducted with professionalism, discipline, and respect for the rights and welfare of civilians.

In line with this year's commemoration theme, the activity underscored the significance of unity and collaboration in fostering a culture of humanity, accountability, and the rule of law. It likewise reaffirmed the Philippine Army's commitment to protecting civilians, upholding human rights, and supporting peacebuilding and sustainable development through lawful, ethical, and people-centered military service.

The observance concluded with a renewed pledge from the personnel of the 80th Infantry (STEADFAST) Battalion to uphold the principles of International Humanitarian Law, embody the values of honor, integrity, and service, and continue contributing to a safer, more peaceful, and more resilient nation.
