On April 17, 2026, DTI Cavite, in partnership with SM Molino, successfully conducted a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Workshop/Seminar at SM Molino, City of Bacoor.
The activity brought together MSMEs and SM employees to enhance their preparedness for potential disruptions. It aimed to help participants identify risks, develop continuity strategies, minimize operational downtime, and sustain business operations during emergencies.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ruy Manaog (STIDS) and Ms. Kimberly Quiacos (CARP-TIDS), who discussed key concepts of BCP, including risk assessment, contingency planning, and response strategies. Participants also engaged in a hands-on workshop where they began crafting their own BCP frameworks.
Through this initiative, participants gained a deeper understanding of business continuity planning and improved their ability to address operational vulnerabilities, ensuring stronger resilience in times of crisis.

DTI-Cavite joined the 1st Quarter 2026 Coffee and Cacao Meeting held on March 24, 2026, at the Office of the Provincial Agriculture (OPA) Provincial Office in Cavite.

Representing DTI-Cavite were OIC Division Chief Julita C. Salvacion and TIDS Mikaela Jane Bartolome. The meeting, facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Agriculture, gathered representatives from various coffee and cacao associations across the province, along with Ms. Lorena Jimeno, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) from the Department of Agriculture.

Discussions centered on upcoming activities and initiatives for the coffee and cacao sectors, encouraging active participation among association members. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and further support the growth and development of Cavite’s coffee and cacao industry.

DTI Cavite, through Negosyo Center Magallanes in partnership with the Business Licensing Office, conducted the seminar “Counting for Change: Basic Accounting and Bookkeeping for an Inclusive Society” on March 13, 2026, in Magallanes, Cavite.

Held in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month, the activity gathered women entrepreneurs and representatives from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The seminar provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in basic accounting and bookkeeping to help them effectively manage their finances and sustain their businesses.

Resource Speaker Ms. Mildred Ladao led an interactive discussion and facilitated a workshop to further reinforce participants' understanding of key concepts.

Through this initiative, DTI continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, particularly women, by equipping them with the necessary tools and competencies to strengthen and grow their businesses.

The Municipality of Magallanes celebrated its 110th Founding Anniversary and Muscovado Festival on March 12, 2026, with the theme “Payak na Pinagmulan, Maunlad at Maningning na Pamayanan.”

One of the highlights of the morning program was the Muscovado Festival cooking competition, where participants prepared creative dishes using muscovado as the main ingredient, promoting one of Magallanes’ known local products. In the afternoon, barangays competed in a kubo-building contest using coconut and bamboo materials, symbolizing appreciation for the hardworking farmers who contribute to the municipality’s local economy.

Representing the Department of Trade and Industry, DTI Cavite Business Counselor Mhea Alindugan served as one of the judges for both the cooking and kubo-building competitions, highlighting the agency’s continued support in promoting local products and strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

On March 11, 2026, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite, represented by OIC-DC Julita C. Salvacion and STIDS Ruy B. Manaog, participated in a preparatory meeting for the 2025 Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA) at Hotel Dominique.

The meeting discussed the validation tools to be used for the audit covering nine coastal LGUs in Cavite. FishCA, introduced in 2018 by the DILG, is an annual assessment that evaluates LGUs’ compliance with the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998 and strengthens monitoring of fisheries governance and municipal water management.

DTI Cavite’s participation supports local fisheries governance, providing guidance, and ensuring that LGUs comply with national fisheries laws for the sustainable management of coastal resources.

On March 10, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite team visited the TESDA-Cavite Provincial Office led by TESDA Provincial Director Gerardo R. Marasigan to explore potential partnership projects with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The DTI team was led by Acting Provincial Director Lilibeth R. Chavez, joined by Division Chief Rexel B. Amparo and OIC-DC Julita C. Salvacion.

The meeting focused on identifying areas for collaboration between DTI’s programs and TESDA’s skills development initiatives.

Agency flagship programs and services were discussed, and activities that could be jointly implemented within the year were identified.

The exploratory discussion aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, support entrepreneurs and skilled workers, and enhance MSME development and skills training programs, contributing to economic growth and employment opportunities in Cavite.
