ENSURING GOOD GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN OUR BARANGAYS AND SK

ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ | August 17, 2026 โ€” To guarantee transparency and the seamless continuity of public services leading up to the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Capiz conducted an Orientation on Governance Transition pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-021 through a hybrid setup on August 17, 2026.

The hybrid event gathered city and municipal treasurers, accountants, youth development officers, and C/MLGOOs in person, while Punong Barangays, secretaries, treasurers, and SK officials joined via Zoom. The orientation detailed the creation and functions of Barangay Inventory Teams (BIT), SK Inventory Teams (SKIT), and City/Municipal Assessment and Transition Teams (C/MATT), highlighting compliance timelines.

Following the core presentation, participants engaged in an interactive Open Forum, raising practical questions to clarify implementation strategies and resolve local field concerns.

EXCELLENCE IN ACTION: 2026 EXCELL AWARDS PROVINCIAL ORIENTATION

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Capiz conducted the Provincial Orientation on the 2026 Search for Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) Awards on August 14, 2026, at the Hall of Governors, Capiz Provincial Capitol Building, Roxas City, Capiz.

The activity was attended by the concerned LGU functionaries corresponding to the ten (10) governance areas covered by the EXCELL Awards, providing an opportunity for the various provincial offices and concerned personnel to gain a deeper understanding of the assessment framework, requirements, and expectations for the 2026 search.

The activity opened with an Overview of the Activity presented by LGOO VI Therese Mae P. Auman, Program Manager, who provided participants with a clear perspective on the objectives and overall direction of the 2026 EXCELL Awards. This was followed by the discussion on the Policy Guidelines pursuant to DILG Regional Memorandum Circular No. 2026-004, presented by LGOO V Rucel B. Mendoza, Chief of the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Section (LGMES), who guided the participants through the implementation process, timelines, and documentary requirements for the upcoming assessment.

More than an orientation, the activity served as a launchpad for collaboration, preparation, and renewed commitment to excellence. It provided a venue to align efforts, clarify expectations, and strengthen the collective resolve of concerned offices to showcase proven good practices and meaningful accomplishments in local governance.

As the 2026 EXCELL Awards journey begins, DILG Capiz encourages all concerned offices to embrace the challenge not simply as a search for recognition, but as an opportunity to reflect, innovate, improve, and deliver better public service.

ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ | August 12, 2026 โ€” The Province of Capiz convened the Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) meeting on August 12, 2026, at the Governorโ€™s Hall, Capiz Provincial Capitol Building, Roxas City.

As part of the meeting, various member agencies presented their respective updates and accomplishments on peace and order and public safety, insurgency and counterinsurgency efforts, and anti-illegal drug initiatives. The presentations provided an avenue to assess the progress of ongoing programs and interventions, identify emerging concerns, and strengthen coordination among agencies in addressing issues affecting the provinceโ€™s peace and security.

Through the collective efforts of the PPOC, PADAC, PTF-ELCAC, and their partner agencies, the Province of Capiz continues to uphold its commitment to promoting a peaceful, safe, drug-free, and resilient community, while fostering stronger partnerships toward sustainable peace and development.

Ito rin ang lokal na pagsasabatas ng mga probisyon ng Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), partikular sa pagbibigay-kahulugan sa gender discrimination, state obligations, substantive equality, at temporary special measures.

Maging ang paggamit ng salitang โ€œofโ€ sa pangalan nito ay kinikilala ang women's participation and ownership of the bill.

Labing-pitong taon ng pagsusulong ng karapatang pantao ng bawat kababaihang Pilipino. Sama-sama tayo para sa mas maunlad, mas ligtas, mas malaya, at mas inklusibong Pilipinas. ๐Ÿ’œ
