Alpha Battery Holds Assumption of Command
TANJAY CITY, Negros Oriental- In a significant leadership transition aimed at strengthening operational readiness and unit effectiveness, 1LT Gin Lagunero formally assumed command of Alpha Battery during an Assumption of Command Ceremony held on 23 May 2026 at the Headquarters Alpha Battery, Camp Leon Kilat, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.
The Ceremony was presided over by LTC Reymando J Braza ART (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding Officer, who highlighted the importance of committed and dynamic leadership in sustaining the mission and professionalism of the unit.
The event was attended by the personnel of Alpha Battery and the Staff Officers of the Battalion through VTC who witnessed the formal transfer of responsibility and authority.
In his message, LTC Braza emphasized that leadership is anchored not only on authority but also on service, discipline, and dedication to the welfare of troops and accomplishment of mission objectives. He expressed confidence that 1LT Lagunero possesses the competence, integrity, and leadership qualities necessary to lead Alpha Battery toward greater operational excellence.
The assumption of command signifies a renewed commitment to uphold the unit’s mandate and further enhance the organization’s capability in corresponding to operational requirements and supporting to higher headquarters’ directives. It also reinforces the continuing effort of the unit to maintain professionalism, cohesion, and readiness in performance of its duties. As new Battery Commander, 1LT Lagunero is expected to lead Alpha Battery in sustaining its troop morale and welfare, and ensuring the effective ex*****on of all assigned missions.
