Recognizing the need for meeting the growing demand for Oyster Mushroom (𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔), faculty-researchers from 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐳 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐳 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 evaluated different locally available materials and substrate combinations to determine which could provide better oyster mushroom production and economic returns. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐌𝐲𝐜𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞.

Today, we remember the life, courage, and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. His words reflect not an idealized view of the Filipino, but a deep faith in our people despite our imperfections.

May his sacrifice remind us that love for country means believing in its people, standing for what is right, and doing our part to build a better Philippines. This is the time to reflect on the value of human rights, justice, and democratic freedom.

CAPSU Strengthens Research and Innovation through Collaboration in Agri-Aqua and RAISE Program Activities

Capiz State University (CAPSU), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), Cavite State University (CvSU), and the Association of PAQE Professionals, co-organized the Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest 2026 on August 11, 2026, at the DOST-PCAARRD E. O. Tan Hall in Los Baños, Laguna, with the theme “Partnership and Collaboration in Action: Accelerating Research Results for Development.”

The event provided a venue for Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs) to showcase research-based technologies and innovations with potential for commercialization and adoption. CAPSU was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for its valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the activities.

The activities continued with the RAISE Program Sustainability Planning Workshop on August 12–13, 2026, which focused on strategies to sustain the program’s projects and initiatives. On August 14, 2026, the RAISE Batch 1 Phase 2 Progress Review was conducted to assess accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.

Also in attendance were Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (RDE); Prof. French A. Dampog, Director of the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO); and Mr. Mark Glenn F. Villamor, Project Leader of RAISE Project 13 – Regional Technology Business Incubator (TBI).

Through these activities, CAPSU continues to strengthen its commitment to research, innovation, technology transfer, commercialization, and entrepreneurship, while building partnerships that help transform research results into useful technologies and sustainable enterprises.

Capiz State University (CAPSU) participated in the DOST-PCAARRD Technology Transfer Promotion Division (TTPD) Projects Inception Meeting on August 10, 2026, to present the targets and deliverables of the Advance Idea to Industry (I2I) through EyLITE Challenge: Strengthening Technology Transfer Scale-Up and Innovation Ecosystem through Young Researcher-Led Entrepreneurship.

The project is a significant outcome of CAPSU’s SINAG Award recognition, having been named a two-time SINAG Awardee, which highlights the University’s sustained excellence in innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. The initiative seeks to further strengthen CAPSU’s innovation ecosystem by empowering young researchers to transform research outputs and technologies into market-oriented and entrepreneurial ventures.

The project targets and deliverables were presented on behalf of the Project Leader, Dr. Efren L. Linan, SUC President, by Prof. French A. Dampog, with Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (VP-RDE), who also serves as a member of the project support staff.
