As part of the National Food Authority's continuing commitment ensuring food security and maintaining quality rice buffer stocks, NFA Administrator Larry R. Lacson conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Post-Harvest Modernization Project (PHMP) facilities and warehouse operations at the NFA Capiz Branch Warehouses located in Bolo, Roxas City, Sigma, and Dumalag, Capiz.
The inspection focused on evaluating the quality of procured palay and milled rice stocks for buffer stocking to ensure that they strictly comply with the NFA's prescribed quality standards and specifications. Administrator Lacson also assessed the condition of warehouse facilities, storage practices, and post-harvest equipment to verify that these are functioning efficiently and contributing to the proper preservation of rice grains.
In addition, the inspection included monitoring the implementation of ongoing modernization projects under the Post-Harvest Modernization Project to ensure that they are being carried out in accordance with approved plans, timelines, and quality standards.
The activity reflects the NFA's commitment to effective warehouse operations, ensuring the quality of its rice buffer stocks, and strengthening food security while supporting Filipino farmers.
