𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The Regional Training Center Capiz successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training.

Facilitated by the Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit – RTC Capiz, the training gathered personnel and CCGNOC CL 118-2025, equipping them with essential life-saving skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rapid response to medical emergencies.

Under the leadership of the Director, RTC Capiz, LCDR LADY DEANN C TERAZONA PCG, this initiative highlights the center’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the medical preparedness, competence, and operational readiness of its personnel—ensuring they are always ready to respond when it matters most.

𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬!

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Nursing Service Sub-Unit (NSSU) of RTC Capiz successfully held a two-day 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝐁𝐋𝐒) training for four (4) RTC Capiz Training Directorate, one (1) MEDFAS Capiz personnel and twenty-nine (29) trainees from CGNOC CL118-2025 Alpha company. The training took place on November 22–23, 2026, at the RTC Building in Brgy. Culasi, Culasi Port, Roxas City.

The training was designed to strengthen participants’ readiness and confidence in managing life-threatening emergencies by providing them with vital knowledge and practical, hands-on skills in Basic Life Support (BLS). It emphasized core competencies such as delivering high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, proper use of automated external defibrillators (AED), efficient foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) management, and appropriate rescue breathing techniques.

The initiative reinforces the Coast Guard’s commitment to preparedness, professionalism, and the preservation of life through timely and effective emergency response.

Ready, set, PREVENT!

RTC Capiz personnel and CGNOC Class 118-2025 trainees, under the leadership of LCDR LADY DEANN C TERAZONA PCG, recently underwent a Fire Prevention Lecture and Drill in line with the celebration of Fire Prevention Month.

In partnership with BFP Roxas City, the trainees were guided by SFO2 Sussie May L Magan, FO3 Glenn D Delaguna, FO3 Joseph V Buriel, and FO1 Joel M Porras Jr

The activity included a hands-on fire simulation where trainees operated firefighting equipment and executed coordinated team actions to control fire incidents.

The exercise further developed the trainees’ confidence, teamwork, and readiness in responding to real-life emergencies,

Reinforcing their role in ensuring the safety of lives and property.

The Coast Guard Regional Training Center Capiz, under the leadership of LCDR LADY DEANN C TERAZONA PCG, Director, RTC Capiz, actively participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill conducted on 12 March 2026 at RTC Capiz, Culasi Port, Roxas City, Capiz.

The activity was conducted in coordination with personnel from Coast Guard Station Capiz, Coast Guard Medical First Aid Station RTC Capiz, and trainees of CGNOC Class 118-2025 to assess the preparedness and response capabilities of the Center in the event of a seismic emergency.

The drill commenced with the ringing of a bell signaling the onset of the simulated earthquake, followed by the announcement of “Drop, Cover, and Hold.” Personnel immediately executed standard evacuation procedures and proceeded to designated assembly areas for muster and accounting while emergency response teams such as extrication, debris clearing, crowd control, medical/rescue, and transportation teams assumed their respective roles.

This activity highlights RTC Capiz’s continued commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness, enhancing coordinated emergency response, and ensuring the safety and readiness of all personnel within the Center.
