The Sorsogon Provincial Cyber Response Team, led by PLT Carl Michael C. Camba, Team Leader, under the supervision of PCOL Gilbert E. Remo, Chief of RACU 5, delivered a Cybercrime Awareness Lecture during the Cybersecurity Society of the Philippines (CyberSocPH) Level 2.0 event held at Sorsogon State University on July 16, 2026.
The lecture equipped students, IT professionals, educators, and cybersecurity advocates with practical knowledge on cybercrime prevention, online safety, responsible use of digital platforms, and the legal implications of cyber-related offenses, empowering them to contribute to a more secure and cyber-resilient community in line with the event's theme, "Securing the Future: Strengthening Regional Readiness in Cybersecurity."
PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, emphasized that strengthening cybersecurity awareness across all sectors is essential to protecting individuals and organizations from evolving cyber threats, promoting responsible digital practices, and building a more secure and cyber-resilient society.
