To my fellow iSagada;

Though the election results were not in our favor, my heart remains full. I am sincerely grateful for every conversation, every shared hope, and every moment we spent together. Isnan amin kendakayo ay asideg ya adayo ay binmadang ya sinmuporta isnan kaagew-agew manipod isnan ninlugyan di filing enggana isnan tiempon di panagkampanya, dadama nan iyaman ko kendakayo. (For all of you, near and far, who helped and supported me every day from the filing of candidacy until the campaign period, my gratitude to you is immense.)

Your passion and love for our community have inspired me beyond measure, and I hope we all keep that passion even if we did not win the seat. May we all keep fighting for a better Sagada for all.

Congratulations to our winning candidates, and I wish you all a productive time in serving our community, that you may bring our beloved Sagada to greater heights. As for me, my commitment to Sagada will remain. I will continue to serve in any way I can, para isnan paggawisan nan ili tako ya datako ay umili. (for the betterment of our town and us, the people.)

Statement on the Tearing Down of Campaign Tarpaulin in Sagada

It is with deep concern that we address the recent tearing down of one of our campaign tarpaulins yesterday around 7p.m in the peaceful town of Sagada(dogo). This unfortunate incident goes against the spirit of respect, unity, and peaceful political engagement that the people of Sagada have long been known for.

Our campaign has always upheld the values of integrity and honest leadership. We believe that every candidate has the right to present their platform to the public without fear of sabotage or suppression.

We call on our supporters to remain calm and respectful, and to continue promoting our message through lawful and peaceful means. Let us not allow this isolated act to divide or distract us from our greater goal — a better future for our community.

We trust that the people of Sagada will continue to champion fairness and wisdom as they always have.

Let’s continue to rise together, with dignity and purpose.

POCKETS VS PRINCIPLES

Every election, money floods our streets. Cash is dangled before our kailyan, a blatant lure to sway votes and secure loyalty. We have long understood and accepted that campaigns need funds, so we just call it normal. “Normal sa tay panagkampanya.”

But why must it be normal when these funds are no longer used to educate, disseminate, and promote our platforms for public service but instead used as tools to buy the support of the people for the ballot. "Isna tako tay ad ado nan siping."

Sagada is at a crossroads. The youth are watching, learning, and are being influenced and taught that this is just how things are. It is only right that we also teach them the truth: Nu ad ado nan ited na, ad ado nan bawien na. What’s easily given comes at a heavy cost.

If we cannot change the minds of our peers, then let us at least guide our sons and our daughters. Quick cash is not the answer.

Let us show that the people of Sagada are different. We are better. We are stronger. And we choose a future built on principles, not pesos.

Ado da nan kankanta ay naimula isnan nemnem tako. Sya dana kuma nan adi mamaid kendatako ya itultuloy kuma nan ongong a ay umununod kendatako.

In the weeks going into the election, we hear many catchy jingles made for all aspiring leaders like me. But I would not ask for anything else, as this is the best jingle for me.
