SGLG; Young Leaders Mirror for future Generation

It's never too late to Congratulate once again our beloved Municipality of Saint Bernard for passing this year's Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) accreditation.

To those who don't know, the SGLG shifts its focus to results-based parameters that would influence behavioral change, which will include output-outcome indicators that exacts accountability from the local government units or LGUs. It is also imperative to commend the efforts of our SK Officials who performed efficiently and submitted all the important requirements and documents of their Youth Development Programs for the said accreditation. Hats off to our SK FEDERATION PRESIDENT, Hon. Guisihan Delina and to Ms. Rhodelyn Segura our Local Youth Development Officer for their insurmountable efforts in complying all the necessary requirements and informations in front of our Accreditors.

Moreover, The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) puts primacy to integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development. It is a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas. Improving local governance is a vital tool to guarantee peace, boost economic development, maximize administrative efficiency, and ensure social inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Thus, the Seal of Good Local Governance symbolizes integrity and good performance of local governments. It is a continuing challenge to our beloved Saint Bernard specially to our Dynamic Mayor, Hon. Edito Mulig and to all the government officials to do better today and in the years to come.

Our 16 Young Leaders from different Barangays of the Municipality of Saint Bernard attended and completed the leadership summit spare headed by the Council for the Restoration of Filipino Values held at Baguio City last October 26-28,2022.

The convention aims to transform the Filipino public servant and the government leadership to subscribe to the code of ethics and values that shall provide the country with righteous, incorruptible, and sincere service towards a graft-free society.

Without a doubt, this 3-day convention opened the minds and hearts of our Leaders to do good in their service and be hungry for excellence as it trained them to express their collective vision for the Filipino Youth and Youth Development. We are much lucky to have been empowered to be nation-builders with zero tolerance to inefficiency, ineffectiveness and corruption, as we shall be governed by the Love of God, Love for the Nation and Love for Integrity and Excellence.

Linggo ng Kabataan | International Youth Day 2022 Update:

One of the major activities of the Linggo ng Kabataan Celebration is the Inter-High Basketball Tournament. Later this afternoon, the SK Federation President - Hon. Kient Deliña had a short meeting with the different Sports Coordinators and Players of the 5 Secondary Education Institutions within the Municipality;
The Cristo Rey Regional High School Inc.
Tambis National High School
Catmon Integrated School
New Guinsaugon National High School
and, Himbangan National High School

They discussed/deliberated the Guidelines and Rules of the Game of the said Tournament. Opening of the tournament will commence tomorrow, August 9, 2022 (Tuesday) at 3:00 PM.

It's the time of the year again!

In pursuant to the [REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10742]
AN ACT ESTABLISHING REFORMS IN THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN CREATING ENABLING MECHANISMS FOR MEANINGFUL YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN NATION-BUILDING, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES, the Sangguniang Kabataan will hold once again a Linggo Ng Kabataan which serves as commemoration of young Filipino heroes who made significance contribution to the development of our country.

To Open the said Celebration, the SK Chairpersons together with the youth will attend a Harmonized Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Seminar in Partnership with the SAVE THE CHILDREN PHILIPPINES, to be held at Barangay Mahayahay, Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte. The optimum goal of this event is to answer the one of the most pressing issues our Youth currently faces when it comes to Mental Health issues and Well being.

This year's Linggo Ng Kabataan is "Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for all ages."

This theme wants to foster an intergenerational solidarity between generations is more than ever necessary to ensure an inclusive and sustainable recovery. As we navigate the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, storms of problems occured specially with our mental health and employment, it is especially important to recognize and address these age-related barriers to “build back better” in a manner that leverages all generations’ strengths and knowledge.

Had a courtesy with our newly installed MLGOO in Saint Bernard. We talked about youth developments especially on the part of Mental Health Awareness Campaign and ways on how to connect with young people in this modern world in connection to the upcoming Linggo ng Kabataan and International Youth Day 2022.

We are also anticipating a municipal wide event by the end of the month. Probably a big event spearheaded by our MLGOO and SKMF.
