Honored to have successfully completed the three-day Orientation Workshop on the Social and Environmental Safeguards and Local Coordination Mechanism for the Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project (INFRA 1), conducted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The Municipality of Sallapadan proudly participated in this important capacity-building activity through representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sallapadan, together with the Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) of Subusob and Gangal. This collaborative participation reflects our shared commitment to responsible, transparent, and people-centered implementation of development projects that benefit our communities.
Throughout the workshop, participants gained valuable knowledge on social and environmental safeguards, right-of-way acquisition, involuntary resettlement, grievance redress mechanisms, meaningful stakeholder consultation, livelihood restoration, and local coordination mechanisms. These discussions are essential in ensuring that infrastructure projects are implemented with due regard for the rights, welfare, and participation of project-affected persons and communities.
The knowledge and insights gained will further strengthen the capacity of the LGU and participating barangays to effectively support the implementation of the INFRA 1 Project, promote informed community engagement, and enhance coordination among stakeholders throughout the project cycle.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the resource speakers, facilitators, and partner agencies for organizing this meaningful learning activity. We likewise thank the officials and constituents of the Municipality of Sallapadan, particularly the BLGUs of Subusob and Gangal, for their trust and support.
Together, we remain committed to building safer, more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive communities through effective partnership and responsible public service.
