As of 2:00 AM today, 18 August 2026, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 08f) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and now has a “HIGH” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, another Low Pressure Area (LPA 08g) is being monitored outside the PAR and has a “MEDIUM” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

In accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 128, Series of 2026 issued by the Office of the President, the Municipality of Salcedo, Ilocos Sur shall implement a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement for municipal employees on 18 August 2026, consistent with applicable Civil Service Commission rules and regulations.

However, to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential government services, the following offices shall continue to report for work and remain open to serve the public:

• Office of the Municipal Mayor
• Municipal Engineering Office
• Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)
• Municipal Health Office (MHO)

All other municipal offices shall observe the Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement, as directed by their respective department heads.
