The Salug Municipal Fire Station, headed by SFO4 Roseller P Taleon, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, in coordination with the Barangay Officials of Barangay Mucas, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte, successfully conducted the formulation of the Community Fire Protection Plan (CFPP).

This activity aims to strengthen the barangay’s preparedness in preventing and responding to fire incidents by identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and available resources within the community. Through active participation and collaboration, the barangay is now better equipped to ensure the safety and protection of its residents.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Barangay Officials and participants for their cooperation and support in making this activity successful.

🚒 Emergency Medical Response 🚑
26 March 2026

Earlier today, 26 March 2026 Salug Municipal Fire Station promptly responded to an emergency medical incident at Poblacion, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte.

Upon arrival, the scene was immediately assessed and confirmed safe and secure. Our EMS duty personnel attended to a 69-year-old male patient found in a sitting position, conscious, and complaining of chest pain and difficulty in breathing.

Initial care was promptly provided, including assisting the patient into a comfortable position and allowing him to rest. He was also advised to loosen any constrictive clothing to help ease discomfort.

Vital signs were carefully obtained and recorded as follows:
📌 Blood Pressure: 150/90 mmHg
📌 Pulse Rate: 79 bpm
📌 Respiratory Rate: 17 breaths/min
📌 Temperature: 36.8°C
📌 SpO₂: 97%

The patient was then immediately transported to the nearest hospital via the MDRRMO rescue vehicle for further medical evaluation and management.

Salug Municipal Fire Station headed by SFO4 Roseller P Taleon, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully facilitated the Creation of the School Emergency Response Team (SERT) at Canawan Elementary School.

The activity aims to establish a dedicated team that will take the lead in ensuring safety, preparedness, and immediate response during emergencies within the school.

Teachers and staff were actively involved in identifying roles and responsibilities to effectively respond to possible hazards and disasters.

This initiative highlights the continuous commitment of Salug MFS in strengthening community safety and building disaster-resilient institutions, especially in our schools.
