These awards were presented by Hon. Ronald M. Ortiguerra, Municipal Vice Mayor together with SB Members, Hon. Erval Flores, Hon. Marjun Bantay, Hon. Edgardo De Leon and Hon. Lawrence Saldaรฑa.

The following SK Councils and Youth Organizations were assessed based in the core elements of good governance and passed the performance metrics to acquire certain Seal. On the other hand, Gawad Kampeon were conferred to Youth Governing Bodies with outstanding programs and activities in areas of youth participation.

Municipal Ordinance No. 25 โ€“ 028 provides the guidelines for assessing the level of functionality of Sangguniang Kabataan, Youth or Youth-Serving Organizations in the municipality of Samal by adopting the metrics set by the GoodGov PH, Inc. for the aforementioned purpose.

We hope that the recipients of these awards continue to uphold the principles of good youth governance and deliver quality services for the Samaleรฑo Youth.

An orientation on Seal on Good Youth Governance (SGYG) 2026 assessment was successfully conducted today, March 11, 2026 at 3rd floor Youth Center, Samal Municipal Hall. It was enjoined by SK Chairpersons, SK Secretaries, Local Youth Development Council with their advisers and SGYG Performance Assessment Team (PAT).

The orientation was led by Hon. Gabriel F. Cortez, SK Municipal Federation President and Ms. Kamille Cuenca, designated LYDO who discussed the performance metrics and schedule of implementation for the abovementioned validation.

Ms. Haidee Balicolon, MLGOO formally opened the activity. Hon. Ronald M. Ortiguerra, Acting Municipal Mayor also shared a message of support highlighting the importance of this initiative in assessing the level of functionality of the Sangguniang Kabataan and Youth-Serving Organizations/Youth Organizations and eventually improve the services being rendered to Samaleรฑo Youth.
