The training program, organized through the collaborative efforts of the 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑺𝑰𝑩𝑹𝑨), the 𝐋𝐆𝐔-𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐒 through the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑪𝑰𝑻𝑶), the 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒕 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 and the 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑰𝑮𝑨𝑪𝑶𝑺, equipped participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills in water rescue, emergency response, first aid, basic life support, and beach safety.

Good news! We are pleased to announce that 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒐 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 has 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒅 its regular operations today, 𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 4, 2026, following the improvement of water clarity and overall tour conditions.

Guests are once again welcome to experience the island’s remarkable giant clam sanctuary and learn about the importance of marine conservation while enjoying the natural beauty of Samal Island.

The Island Garden City of Samal officially opened the 2026 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 27, 2026, 𝙖𝙩 𝙔𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙏𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙖𝙤𝙗𝙤, 𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩, marking another significant step in strengthening water safety and emergency response in the island’s tourism industry.

The 10-day training program, which runs until 𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 5, 2026, is a collaborative initiative of the Local Government Unit of the Island Garden City of Samal (LGU-IGACOS) through the 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 (𝘾𝙄𝙏𝙊), the 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙎𝙄𝘽𝙍𝘼), and the 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙂𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙 (𝙋𝘾𝙂). The program brings together 37 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒔 who successfully passed the 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙚𝙨𝙩 (𝙎𝙌𝙏) 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 10, 2026 𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 and will undergo intensive instruction on water rescue, lifesaving techniques, first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and emergency response.

The opening ceremony gathered local officials, tourism stakeholders, and Philippine Coast Guard representatives in expressing their commitment to producing competent and professional lifeguards who will help ensure the safety of both residents and visitors in Samal Island’s beaches and resorts.

The opening program featured a motorcade, messages from provincial leaders, and an inspiring keynote by 𝑱𝒐𝒚 𝑺𝒐𝒐, Founder of House of MUSA, highlighting sustainable and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. Guests also witnessed the House of MUSA Fashion Show, celebrating locally crafted products that support artisans, indigenous communities, and persons deprived of liberty.

As Samal Island continues to attract visitors to its world-class beaches, the Local Government Unit of the Island Garden City of Samal (LGU IGACOS), through the City Investment and Tourism Office (CITO), conducted the 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒔’ 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒚 9, 2026, 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒌 to prepare aspiring lifeguards for the upcoming training.

The orientation highlighted the essential role of lifeguards as frontline responders responsible for ensuring the safety of beachgoers. Participants were briefed on the training objectives, requirements, preparations, and expectations.

Conducted in partnership with the Samal Island Beach Resort Association (SIBRA) and the Philippine Coast Guard Southeastern Mindanao, the initiative reinforces LGU IGACOS’ commitment to strengthening water safety and developing skilled lifeguards to help keep Samal Island a safe destination where every visitor can truly Dive into Beauty.
