𝗧𝗨𝗣𝗔𝗗 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀

An orientation for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) – Abaca Rehabilitation for Economic Recovery and Environmental Sustainability project was held at the San Andres Municipal Development Training Center, in preparation for the implementation of the DOLE Direct Administration Project.

The orientation started at 1:43 p.m. and concluded at 3:52 p.m., bringing together the program participants for a briefing on the project’s objectives, implementation guidelines, and responsibilities of beneficiaries.

The orientation was led by Kim Christian Nazareno, PESO San Andres Manager, together with Carl Japhet Arcilla, TUPAD Coordinator, and Jessica De Vera, Fiber Development Officer I.

Discussions during the orientation centered on the proper implementation of the abaca rehabilitation activities, including the roles and responsibilities of participating workers and the guidelines governing their engagement under the TUPAD program.

The Abaca Rehabilitation for Economic Recovery and Environmental Sustainability project forms part of efforts to support workers while contributing to the rehabilitation and sustainability of the local abaca sector.

Through the DOLE Direct Administration, the project provides a structured framework for the implementation of temporary employment assistance while carrying out activities that support abaca rehabilitation and environmental sustainability in San Andres.

The Public Employment Service Office-San Andres continues its preparations for the August 28, 2026 Job Fair through direct coordination with employers in Virac.

PESO Manager Kim Christian Nazareno, together with Ma. Alvie V. Aquino, PESO Staff, engaged participating employers to gather information on vacancies, workforce requirements, and recruitment conditions.

The coordination will support the orderly conduct of the Job Fair and provide jobseekers from San Andres and surrounding areas with access to a wider range of employment opportunities.

The Public Employment Service Office-PESO San Andres conducted a 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗦) 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 at Mc Gregors Residence, bringing together new and former SPES participants in an activity focused on strengthening teamwork, camaraderie, cooperation, and workplace readiness.
The capability-building activity was spearheaded by 𝙋𝙀𝙎𝙊 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙆𝙞𝙢 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙑. 𝙉𝙖𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙤, emphasizing the importance of developing not only the participants’ work-related skills but also the interpersonal values essential to a productive and collaborative working environment.
The activity also provided an opportunity for new SPES participants to engage with former participants and benefit from their experiences, fostering continuity, shared learning, and stronger connections within the SPES community.
The games and team-building activities were organized and facilitated by 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙝 𝘿𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝘾. 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡 and 𝙈𝙖. 𝘼𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙚 𝙑. 𝘼𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙤, with the support of other facilitators.
The SPES Capability Building reflects PESO San Andres’ continuing commitment to providing students with meaningful employment experiences complemented by opportunities for personal development, teamwork, and professional growth.
Through initiatives such as this, PESO San Andres strengthens the SPES experience beyond employment helping young participants build the values, relationships, and capabilities they can carry into their future careers.
