The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) San Antonio, served as one of the members of the Board of Judges during the Coconut Product Development Presentation of Agroentrepreneurship NC II Batch 3 students held on July 15, 2026, at Mentong Agricultural Farm in Sitio Tag-raw, Brgy. Briones, San Antonio, Quezon.
Representing DTI–Quezon, NC San Antonio Business Counselor Joyce M. De Mesa evaluated the product outputs of twenty-three (23) students who presented innovative coconut-based products developed during their training. The activity highlighted the students’ entrepreneurial knowledge, creativity, and skills in developing market-oriented products.
During the evaluation, Ms. De Mesa provided recommendations on product improvement, market readiness, and customer appeal to help the students enhance their business concepts. The activity also provided the students with valuable insights and constructive feedback from entrepreneurship advocates and industry practitioners.
Through its continued support for capacity-building initiatives and collaborative programs, DTI–Quezon remains committed to promoting agro-entrepreneurship and strengthening local enterprises.

SAN ANTONIO, QUEZON – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Quezon, through Negosyo Center–San Antonio, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Antonio through the Rural Health Unit (RHU), conducted the seminar entitled “Strengthening Food Quality and Safety through Good Manufacturing Practices” on July 24, 2026, at the SB Session Hall, Municipal Hall of San Antonio, Quezon.
The activity gathered food entrepreneurs, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), food handlers, and other stakeholders to enhance their knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality, consumer protection, and business sustainability.
Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Alvin C. Pillerba emphasized the importance of proper food handling and preparation to ensure that food products are safe for consumers and expressed the LGU’s continued support for initiatives that promote responsible food business practices.
The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Ma. Wilma C. Laroza, Municipal Health Officer of the Rural Health Unit of San Antonio, who discussed essential food safety topics, including proper food handling, sanitation and hygiene practices, prevention of food contamination, safe food preparation procedures, responsibilities of Food Business Operators (FBOs), and compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
The activity concluded with closing remarks from Municipal Administrator Marie Grace D. Wagan, representing Municipal Mayor Hon. Erick M. Wagan, who expressed appreciation to the participants and recognized DTI–Quezon’s efforts in providing capacity-building programs that strengthen local food enterprises and promote food safety practices among MSMEs.
