The Naval Reserve Command (NRC), also known as NAVRESCOM or RESCOM, (Filipino: Pangasiwaan ng Panlaang Kawal ng Hukbong Pandagat) is one of the Philippine Navy's Major Support Commands created for the sole purpose of reserve force management, procurement, and organization.

NCNL FACILITATED RESERVISTS FELLOWSHIP IN BASCO, BATANES

As part of the Command’s visit and activities in Basco, Batanes, the Naval Command Northern Luzon (NCNL), under the leadership of Rear Admiral Richard N Gonzaga PN, Commander, NCNL, facilitated a Reservists Fellowship on July 27, 2026, at Diptan Covered Court, Diptan, Basco, Batanes.

The activity gathered Philippine Navy Reservists from the 81st Marine Battalion Reserve (81st MrBR), 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve (123rd NSSSR), and 112nd Naval Combat Support Squadron Reserve (112nd NCSSR). Also in attendance was Captain Glyn B Pahilanga PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Reserve Center – Northern Luzon (NRCen-NL). During the fellowship, RADM GONZAGA PN recognized the reservists' unwavering commitment to supporting the Philippine Navy's mission and contributing to the country's defense efforts. "Our Reservists serve not only as force multipliers during emergencies, disasters, and territorial defense operations, but also as ambassadors of patriotism within your respective communities. Your presence here as members of the reserve force reinforces our collective commitment to ensuring the security and stability of this vital area,” the Commander emphasize.

The reservist fellowship was conducted in celebration of our shared commitment to service, patriotism, and nation-building. It provides us with the opportunity to strengthen the bond between the Regular and Reserve Force, foster camaraderie, and reaffirm our common purpose of safeguarding our nation’s sovereignty and serving the Filipino people. As force multipliers in the country's northern frontier, the Philippine Navy Reservists in Batanes continue to support the Command's mission by enhancing community resilience, promoting preparedness, and contributing to the defense and security of the nation's maritime domain.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || The 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve conducted a courtesy call on the Commanding Officer of the Naval Leadership Development Center (NLDC), Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (NETC), CAPT RONALD REY LABASTIDA PN, who warmly welcomed the delegation together with MCPO Arniel Cabalbag PN.

During the engagement, CAPT LABASTIDA shared his professional background and expressed his commitment to strengthening collaboration between the Naval Leadership Development Center and the Naval Reserve Force. He highlighted the importance of integrating reservists into various leadership development initiatives, specialized training programs, and other capability enhancement activities conducted by NLDC.

Additionally, both parties discussed initiatives that would enhance the active participation of reservists in supporting the mission of the Philippine Navy, particularly through continued training, leadership development, and service opportunities that contribute to the overall readiness of the Naval Reserve Force.

𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 || In support of environmental stewardship and sustainable development, the 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve actively participated in a Tree Planting Activity held at Naval Installation Facility (NIF)–Zambales. The activity coincided with the official Commander’s Visit of representatives from the Naval Reserve Center–Northern Luzon (NRCen-NL) and to the Chief of Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CNETDC).

The activity brought together officers, enlisted personnel, reservists, and stakeholders in a unified effort to promote environmental conservation to protect not only the nation’s sovereignty but also its natural resources, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among its personnel.

The Commander’s Visit also provided an opportunity to assess ongoing unit initiatives, strengthen coordination among reserve units, and reaffirm the importance of professionalism, operational readiness, and continuous capability development within the Naval Reserve Force.

𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 || The 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve proudly participated in the Medical Mission conducted at Subic Central School upon the invitation of F9, Philippine Navy Fleet, reaffirming its commitment to community service and civil-military cooperation.

During the activity, personnel assisted in the orderly conduct of the medical mission by providing support to healthcare personnel and extending assistance to civilian beneficiaries, contributing to the successful delivery of essential medical services to the local community.

Following the activity, a debriefing meeting was held, presided over by CAPT Ronel T. Raciles PN, F9, where he emphasized the vital roles and significant contributions of reservists in supporting the Philippine Navy’s mission. He underscored the importance of maintaining a capable, disciplined, and mission-ready reserve force that complements the regular force in humanitarian assistance, disaster response, community engagement, and national defense.

The activity highlighted the enduring partnership between the regular and reserve components of the Philippine Navy in delivering meaningful public service while strengthening the bond between the Armed Forces and the communities they serve.

𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 || The 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve joined the Water Safety and Rescue (WASAR) Training conducted at NIF–Zambales, in collaboration with DRRMO San Antonio and Naval Operating Base (NOB)–Subic, reinforcing the commitment of participating agencies to disaster preparedness and effective emergency response.

The training featured comprehensive demonstrations and practical exercises on actual lifesaving procedures, lifeboat rope crossing, various water rescue techniques, and the proper handling and maneuvering of rubber boats. These activities enhanced the participants’ operational skills, teamwork, and readiness in responding to water-related emergencies and disaster situations.

Through continuous capability-building initiatives such as WASAR, the participating organizations further strengthen interoperability, professionalism, and operational excellence in safeguarding lives and supporting communities during emergencies.

During the activity, personnel were oriented on the command’s current priorities, upcoming training programs, administrative updates, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the capability and effectiveness of the Naval Reserve Force. Discussions also emphasized the importance of continuous participation in unit activities, maintaining personnel readiness, and upholding the standards, discipline, and core values expected of every personnel.

𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗗𝗔 𝗘𝗦𝗞𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗔 || the 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve participated in the nationwide school maintenance and preparation activities conducted from 01 to 07 June 2026 across various municipalities in Zambales.

Working alongside local government units, educators, volunteers, and partner stakeholders, the personnel
rendered community service through various initiatives aimed at helping ensure that public schools were prepared to provide a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students in the upcoming academic year.

The 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve remains steadfast in strengthening its partnership with the community in promoting programs that contribute to education, public welfare, and national development.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || The 123rd Naval Service Support Squadron Reserve successfully conducted a Shipboard Familiarization and Orientation Training aboard BRP Rajah Sulayman PS20-PF at Naval Operating Base-Subic, providing reservists with firsthand exposure to Philippine Navy shipboard operations and maritime capabilities.

The activity enhanced the participants’ understanding of the ship’s organization, mission capabilities, operational systems, and safety procedures while fostering greater appreciation of the roles and responsibilities of naval personnel in accomplishing maritime missions. Through guided shipboard orientation and practical familiarization, reservists gained valuable knowledge that contributes to their operational readiness and professional development.
