As part of the San Carlos City Hospital Extension Program and in celebration of Nutrition Month 2026, with the national theme "Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat" and this year's sub-theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!", the SCCH Dietary Unit, under the leadership of Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian Ms. Kaye Lorraine Maraasin
and Ma'am Aida Rubi Lim-Takeda
Nutritionist-Dietitian, successfully conducted a feeding program for the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the SCC BJMP facility.

The activity provided nutritious meals to approximately 350 inmates, while promoting the importance of proper nutrition and encouraging healthier eating habits. Through initiatives like this, San Carlos City Hospital continues its commitment to extending compassionate healthcare beyond hospital walls and fostering a healthier community for all.

Together, let us continue to nourish lives, promote wellness, and build a healthier, more sustainable future.

Day 1: Onsite Medical-Surgical Screening | Municipality of Toboso

Day 1 of our onsite medical-surgical screening at the Municipality of Toboso was a success. Through the partnership of San Carlos City Hospital (SCCH) and the Municipality of Toboso, we were able to screen 185 patients in preparation for the last Medical-Surgical Mission of San Carlos City, scheduled on January 9–15, 2027.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this possible. Your support allows us to bring quality healthcare closer to the communities we serve.

Today, Hon. Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, together with esteemed engineers and architects, convened to chart the direction of San Carlos City Hospital. The meeting focused on laying the groundwork for the hospital’s next milestone—developing a new and advanced facility designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the people.

This gathering marks the beginning of a longer journey, but the vision is clear: to materialize a modern hospital through the coordination, support, and partnership of both the Local Government Unit and the Department of Health.

With strong leadership and collaborative effort, San Carlos City Hospital is set to embark on a transformative path that will bring enhanced services and greater accessibility to the community.

Today, the Regulatory, Licensing and Enhancement Division (RLED) of DOH NIR visited San Carlos City Hospital (SCCH) for the onsite monitoring and compliance inspection in line with the yearly renewal of our Hospital License to Operate, as well as the evaluation of our application to increase capacity from 100 beds to 150 beds.

The activity concluded with a very satisfactory performance rating, with few recommendations for improvement. SCCH successfully passed the evaluation, earning the official approval for a 150 bed capacity.

This milestone was witnessed by Hon. Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo during the exit conference at Station 5. Mayor Gustilo expressed his gratitude to DOH NIR for their continued support and assistance to San Carlos City, and congratulated SCCH for a job well done, commending the teamwork and dedication shown throughout the inspection and evaluation.

Dr. Renan E. Sanchez, Chief of Hospital, likewise congratulated the SCCH team for their commitment and effort before, during, and after the evaluation. He emphasized that this achievement is not only for the hospital but also for the community at large, as it paves the way for more comprehensive healthcare services for the people of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.

💙 This accomplishment marks another step forward in strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding access to quality medical services for our region.

🌟 Dental–Surgical Caravan Surpasses Targets with Outstanding Achievements! 🌟

Today marks the end of our two week caravan (April 27 – May 11) — and what a journey it has been! As we move to the next mission, we proudly celebrate exceeding our targets through the strong partnership of San Carlos City Hospital (SCCH), San Carlos City Primary Health Care, CDRRMO, the Army, PNP, and DepEd.

💪 Their tireless dedication, effort, and sacrifices made everything possible. Under the leadership of our beloved Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, we achieved more than we ever expected.

✅ Tuli: 1,230 beneficiaries (102.5%)
✅ Ibot sa Ngipon: 1,581 tooth extracted (527%)
✅ Tupi: 361 beneficiaries (103.14%)

This milestone stands as a testament to unity and compassion — a beautiful partnership that continues to bring better healthcare to the people of San Carlos City.
