The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through CLGOO VI John Christopher V. Reguindin, PhD, led the provision of updates on the implementation of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Program.

Prosperidad, the last rural barangay in San Carlos City to conduct its Barangay Development Plan (BDP) Updating Workshop, successfully completed the activity yesterday, August 4.

Sectoral representatives actively participated by identifying and discussing the barangay’s issues, concerns, and priority Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) that will support its development and serve as the foundation for its updated Barangay Development Plan.

Punong Barangay Sostines V. Tranilla encouraged everyone to work together in achieving the barangay’s aspirations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and active participation rather than merely expressing complaints.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government–Negros Island Region (DILG-NIR), through LGOO VII Fatima Daiz, LGOO VI Ethyl Mae Paredes-Vasquez, LGOO II Jun Abitong, and LGOO III Via Ace Turbela, together with Facilitator and Documentor Dr. Yasmin Pascual-Dormido of the University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos, provided technical assistance to representatives from the Local Government Unit and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of San Carlos City in the formulation of the Philippine Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP) flagship program on July 30, 2026, at the LIGA Conference Room, Park Marina.

The PH-OGP is a multi-stakeholder initiative that promotes transparency, accountability, and meaningful citizen participation in governance. Through this initiative, the LGU and its partners work collaboratively to develop commitments that foster open, inclusive, and responsive governance for the benefit of the community.

On behalf of the local government of San Carlos, the City Planning and Development Coordinator’s Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to Service Director Nelson Tupas of the Local Affairs Coordinating and Monitoring Service (LACMS), Development Management Officer IV Angela Melchora Garchitorena, Technical Officer V Mary Ann Artil, Technical Officer V Kristine Mae Pagador, and Support Officer III Saila Rose Dela Fuente, Secretariat, for providing technical assistance during the City Poverty Reduction Action Plan (CPRAP) Formulation Workshop held on July 28–30, 2026, at the Park Marina Function Hall.

Their expertise and guidance were instrumental in the formulation of the City Poverty Reduction Action Plan, fostering inclusive, responsive, and sustainable poverty reduction initiatives. The CPDCO also expresses its sincere appreciation to its co-participants, the Municipalities of Toboso, Don Salvador Benedicto, and Calatrava for their active engagement, collaboration, and shared commitment to advancing poverty reduction efforts in their respective communities.

The City Planning and Development Coordinator’s Office (CPDCO) team, composed of Raul Morales Jr., Janet Resuento, and Charisse Riane Dingding, together with GAD Focal Person Renzie Mae Tambasen-Antonio, successfully conducted the Barangay Development Plan (BDP) Updating Workshop in Barangay Nataban on July 28, 2026.

The workshop brought together barangay officials and sectoral representatives in a collaborative planning process to identify priority issues and concerns and formulate responsive Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs). Through active participation and meaningful dialogue, the activity reinforced the barangay’s commitment to inclusive, gender-responsive, and sustainable development planning that addresses the needs and aspirations of the community.
