๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In support of Brigada Eskwela 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Station La Union, together with its Sub-Stations/COPs, MEPERG-NWLZN, and CRG-NWLZN, actively participated in the opening day of Brigada Eskwela activities in various schools throughout La Union.

As part of the initiative, Coast Guard personnel rendered volunteer services, including school clean-up, minor repair works, maintenance works, and other volunteer efforts to help ensure that school facilities are safe, clean, and ready for the opening of classes.

Through their active participation, the involved units reaffirmed the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s dedication to fostering stronger community partnerships and supporting programs that promote the welfare and education of Filipino learners. This collective effort reflects the spirit of volunteerism and shared responsibility in creating a better learning environment for the youth.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In preparation for the anticipated effects of Tropical Depression โ€œDOMENG,โ€ Coast Guard Station La Union, together with its Sub-Stations and Clearing Outposts (COPs), conducted a static display and readiness inspection of rescue assets and emergency response equipment to ensure operational preparedness.

This initiative enhances the readiness of all units and personnel for the immediate response to any maritime or coastal emergencies that may arise as a result of the prevailing weather disturbance.

With all response teams on standby, CGS La Union remains committed to providing prompt and effective assistance to affected communities while maintaining close coordination with local government units, disaster response agencies, and other stakeholders to safeguard lives, protect property, and preserve the marine environment.

LOOK: Today 27 May 2026, the Coast Guard Station La Union headed by LTJG JEPTY E UBALDO PCG, in coordination with COP San Fernando, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN ), MEDS-NWLZN, NSSU-NWLZN, MSSU-NWLZN, SOU-NWLZN, MEPERG-NWLZN, and partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management office (CDRRMO), successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Joint Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) at the vicinity waters of Brgy. San Agustin, San Fernando, La Union.

The activity showcased the participating agenciesโ€™ readiness, teamwork, and commitment in strengthening emergency response capabilities and ensuring the safety of the maritime community.
This joint undertaking also reinforces the importance of continuous training, inter-agency cooperation, and effective communication in responding to maritime emergencies.

Through regular exercises like this, responders are better equipped to act swiftly and efficiently in real-life situations.

LOOK: On 25 May 2026, ๐‚๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‹๐š ๐”๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ง (CGS La Union), together with its Sub-Stations, actively participated in the PCG-Wide Simultaneous Oath-Taking and signing of Affidavit of Undertaking for th Non-Use of Dangerous Drugs, Under the PCG Zero Drug Tolerance Policy 2026.

In line with the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s continuing commitment towards professionalism, discipline, accountability, and excellence in public service.

The activity gathered Coast Guard personnel in a unified ceremony featuring the simultaneous Oath-Taking of the Affidavit of Undertaking prior to the formal signing ceremony. One of the highlights of the activity was the documentation and photo opportunity wherein participating personnel proudly displayed their duly signed Affidavits of Undertaking, symbolizing solidarity, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service.

Through activities such as this, CGS La Union and its Sub-Stations continue to embody the principles of honor, integrity, and patriotism while strengthening unity and professionalism within the service in pursuit of the Commandantโ€™s vision of a more responsive, disciplined, and service oriented Philippine Coast Guard.

JOINT COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE AND SCUBA-SURERO INITIATED BY BUREAU OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES (BFAR) AT BRGY. SAN AGUSTIN, CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž: In line with the Philippine Coast Guard iCARE Program, personnel of CGS La Union, headed by LTJG JEPTY E UBALDO PCG, together with COP San Fernando and RTC-La Union, actively participated in the conduct of a Coastal Clean-Up and Scuba-Surero Activity initiated by Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), held along the shoreline of Brgy. San Agustin, City of San Fernando, La Union, today 22 May 2026.

The activity gathered various government agencies, organizations, and volunteers, including Brgy. San Agustin officials, BJMP, PNP Maritime Police, the Philippine Air Force, Samahang Ilocano, DOH, DOERS, and the Poro Marine Protected Area, all united in a common effort to promote marine environmental protection and coastal preservation.

Demonstrating strong collaboration and environmental stewardship, the participating agencies and volunteers successfully collected and recovered a total of fifty-six (56) sacks of segregated assorted waste materials from the coastal area, contributing to the cleanliness and protection of the marine environment.

The successful conduct of the activity reflects the unwavering commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and its partner stakeholders to environmental sustainability, marine conservation, and community involvement in support of the PCG iCARE Program and the Bagong Pilipinas initiative.

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž: Coast Guard Sub-Station Luna, in coordination with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), MDRRMO Luna, MENRO Luna, SBM Luna, MAO Luna, PNP Maritime Group, BFAR Region 1, and Bantay Dagat Luna, successfully conducted a Joint Seaborne Patrol Operation within the municipal waters of Luna, La Union on 20โ€“21 May 2026.

During the operation, the joint team apprehended a motorized banca engaged in illegal fishing activities using air compressors as breathing apparatus near the waters of Brgy. Carisquis, Luna, La Union, in violation of Luna Municipal Ordinance.

This successful operation highlights the strong inter-agency coordination and unwavering commitment of all participating stakeholders in protecting marine resources and ensuring the strict enforcement of fisheries and maritime laws within the Province of La Union.
