In reference to Gale warning Nr. 5 issued by DOST PAG-ASA on 05:00 AM, 03 September 2026 today, wherein no Gale Warning Signal hoisted within the Province of La Union..

In this regard, suspension of voyages of all types of seacrafts/vessels and conduct of any type of water activities within the area of responsibility of CGS La Union is LIFTED. However, all vessels are advised to exercise heightened caution and take appropriate safety precautions due to the presence of potentially big waves. Furthermore, all maritime- related activities and swimming activities in coastal areas are highly discouraged due to the inclement sea and weather conditions, in order to prevent possible maritime incidents.

Please be guided with HPCG/CG3 Memorandum Circular 03-01 dated 02 February 2001 (Guidelines on Movement of Motorboats/Vessels in the absence of Weather Bulletin in the Locality), HPCG Memorandum Circular Nr 02-13 dated 05 June 2023 (Guidelines on the Movement of Vessels during Heavy Weather), NHQ-PCG/CG8 Memorandum Circular 02-23 dated 23 March 2023 (Revised Guidelines on Movement of Vessels During Heavy Weatherโ€) and NHQ-PCG/CG-8 Memorandum 0224-038 dated 08 February 2024.

In reference to Gale warning Nr. 3 issued by DOST PAG-ASA on 05:00 AM, 02 September 2026 today, wherein strong to gale-force wind associated with southwest monsoon is expected to affect the Western Coast of La Union.

In this regard, all watercrafts with 250 GT or less plying with the Western Coast of La Union (Bangar, Luna, Balaoan, Bacnotan, San Juan and City of San Fernando) are hereby SUSPENDED, while larger vessels are alerted against big waves, Likewise, maritime related acitivities and swimming ventures in coastal areas are highly discouraged to prevent incidents.

LOOK | CGS La Union Conducts WASAR and BLS Training for BJMP Personnel

The Philippine Coast Guard through Coast Guard Station La Union, in collaboration with CGMED-NWLZN, NSSU-NWLZN, DSSO-NWLZN, CG COP BAUANG and SOG-NWLZN, commenced the 5-Day Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) and Basic Life Support Training for personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on 02 September 2026 at Bauang District Jail, Bauang, La Union.

The activity formally commenced with the convening ceremony led by the Station Commander, Coast Guard Station La Union, with the participation of 29 BJMP personnel who will undergo the said training program.

The conduct of this training aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and preparedness of BJMP personnel in water search and rescue operations, as well as in providing immediate medical assistance during emergency situations.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains steadfast in strengthening inter-agency cooperation and capability-building initiatives toward a safer and more resilient maritime community.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: Today, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station San Juan, in coordination with MSWD-San Juan, MDRRMO San Juan, and BFP San Juan, provided assistance in the relocation of relief food packs at the San Juan Municipal Gymnasium, Brgy. Ili Sur, San Juan, La Union.

The activity forms part of the PCGโ€™s continuing support to government-led disaster response and humanitarian assistance operations for affected communities.

WATCH : In observance of the Marine and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026, the Philippine Coast Guard, through Coast Guard Station La Union and Coast Guard Clearing Outpost San Fernando, in coordination with Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN), PNP Maritime Group and Polaris Top Marine Services Corp, participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Blowing of Shipโ€™s Horn and Ringing of Shipโ€™s Bell. ๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In preparation for the possible effect of heavy rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), personnel of Coast Guard Station La Union together with its Sub-Stations and Clearing Outpost headed by LTJG JEPTY E UBALDO PCG conducted a Static Display within its Area of Responsibility (AOR) and prepare its manpower and lifesaving equipments for possible dispatch.

Personnel of CGS La Union, its Sub-Stations and COPs remains on standby, fully prepared for immediate deployment and rapid response to any maritime or land-based emergencies.
